Lexapro, Lamictal, Zyprexa and Blue Lotus, Lion's Tail

I'm thinking of ordering some Blue Lotus and Lion's Tail (Wild Dagga) and I was wondering if there might be any drug interaction since I am on three psych meds. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

lexapro(Escitalopram), Lamictal(Lamotrigine), zyprexa(olanzapine). Its an international forum. Please use trade names since drugs have different names in different countries.

As for the combo, swim has no idea of the safety but the zyprexa is an antipsychotic so it might kill the hallucinogenic properties. Try looking in the ethno subforum for more info.

Re: Lexapro, Lamictal, Zyprexa and Blue Lotus, Lion's Tail

Well zyprexa (olanzapine) is an atypical anti-psychotic. All anti-psychotics block D2-receptors at some given dose and this is one of the main accepted mechanisms in which they act. (Atypical a/s usually block other receptors as well, typical a/s are usually limited to mostly D2-receptor antagonism)

Blue Lotus contains(amongst other things):

Apomorphine:
Quote:
Apomorphine is a type of dopaminergic agonist, a morphine derivative (but does not actually contain morphine, or bind to opioid receptors). Apomorphine is a relatively non-selective dopamine receptor agonist, having possible slightly higher affinity for D2-like dopamine receptors. taken from Wikipedia
Nuciferine:
Quote:
Nuciferine is an alkaloid found within both Nymphaea caerulea and Nelumbo nucifera. It has a profile of action associated with dopamine receptor blockade. It induces catalepsy, inhibits spontaneous motor activity, conditions avoidance response, amphetamine toxicity and stereotypy. Taken from wikipedia
So two compounds heavily linked to dopaminergic effects. Apomorphine is potentially very relevant due to D2-receptor agonism (olanzapine being an antagonist). Anti-psychotics are also well known for their extra-pyramidal side effects so the combination could complicate matters if such side effects are already present [hard to predict the outcome]

Taking the 3 medical drugs alongside two herbal drugs might add further unknown complications (most likely no information available on the potential interactions between blue lotus, wild dagga & the three prescription meds).

mabey not phsyically but it could fuck with your head pretty bad if they mess with your seritonin.swim not sure swim on lamictal. not got to mix(alters your perception)(with cns and alchohal) swim used to be on ssri lexapro(dont recomend)but it gave swim mania(could be made worse depends on person) dont know about the third. Lastly the drugs your on by themselfs are dangerous even if they are prescribed. Even though your docter saysits ok your still mixing three drugs that are already changing the chemicle properties of you brain to "adjust" or "mantain levals" so be careful with what you do with what you have

Swim had the same probem with escitalopram oxalate(lexapro). He is bipolar(mixed state). The mania is a big problem with misdiagnosed and put on an ssri. He is currently on Lamictal(Lamotrigine) but the drug needs to be specific for one's exact problems so other drugs are better for other people.
