Success!!! The monkeys gone!
Swim posted in the past alot about his problem with opiates and just feeling the need to always be high on something. Well swim has been away from home for a month to work on beating the addiction. So far all is going GREAT!!! Swim always felt unsatisfied with his "last" time using oxy and this led to relapses. Well swim realised that he most likely would never be satisfied with his last time using and really did some soul searching to realise this was not the life he wanted to lead anymore and that he was going to HAVE TO not plan to ever use again! This has helped immensely at helping swim with having cravings. Swim has not had one single craving!!! He has also learned to take on any situation that comes his way sober and it relievd his paranoia of thinking he could not handle problems without drugs. Swim has used adderall once and ritalin once but no problems with wanting to use everyday. Swim is heading back to his hometown tommorow and is going to be VERY cautious about relapsing! He is going to have the drugs available to him and that will be his next hurdle to leap and keep from using. Swim is just very very proud of himself as is his family and friends. He wanted to post so he could give inspiration to others that it is possible to overcome addiction as long as you are honest with yourself about the problem and what needs to be done to fix it. Wish swim luck upon arriving home as this will be a new challenge!

Re: Success!!! The monkeys gone!
OP - what do you mean by "drugs available at home"? Is someone you are living with still using or are you referring to the proximity / availability of your connects? If someone you are living with still uses, SWIM recommends you consider alternate living arrangements.
Going back to the real world after a rehab stint is difficult enough. Remember, all the people, places and things that made you want to use in the first place are still there. Surround yourself with sober friends and stay as far from temptation as possible. Good luck to you. FC |

Fantasic!! Swim is very happy for swiy
Big congrats.. swiys moving back? swim doesnt see any point in moving back if one is having a great time, and leading a sober life etc, but one must do what is/feels best, swim is sure swiy is strong enough to move back and not relapse but wishing swiy lots of luck anyways! well done
