DOC use during pregnancy

I decided to trip a couple weeks ago, the experience was grand but I just found out I'm pregnant (approx. 4-6weeks at time of dosage). Despite being an RC I haven't been able to find any research on this particular topic. How concerned should I be?

Re: DOC use during pregnancy

The primary concern regarding swiy psychedelic use during pregnancy is the tendency for some psychedelics (specifically LSD) to induce uterine contractions. Due to the amphetamine quality of DOx phenethylamines, the likelihood of uterine contractions is probably a significant concern. Timing may be a factor as well, though swim is not sure to what extent. Please see a doctor for a more specific answer.

Re: DOC use during pregnancy

Uterine contractions are not a class effect of hallucinogens but generally limited to (or at least best documented with) LSD & Company. Amphetamine & methamphetamine are in the US Pregnancy Category C (animal studies have shown some harm but there is limited data in humans; use may be warranted).

Although DOC is an RC and therefore largely unresearched, I wouldn't be overly concerned (constant fear for the baby's life/sanity during pregnancy may very well be worse than a single dose of DOC). What's done is done. Just don't do DOC (and other drugs for that matter) again while pregnant.

Re: DOC use during pregnancy

SWIM knows that this is just adding to what everyone else says. But his opinion is that SWIY will be fine and even if they are not there really is not much one could do. SWIM would just suggest staying away from psychoactive substances while pregnant. I know that this is pretty much repeating but I also know that when it comes to a subject like this ( which can induce a lot of panic to what could have possibly been done to the offspring ) it is good to have a group of SWIMmers who agree on that one will be fine.

Re: DOC use during pregnancy

One DOC trip will probably do no harm just no more drug use from here on out is what you want to do.
