Combinations - Is Clonidine (low blood pressure med) OK to take with Coke?

SWIM is wondering about this, he has done a little bit of cola tonight and also took a half of a 0.1 Clonidine tab, and it took away some of the side effects of coke that SWIM hates, such as the restlessness and anxiety, SWIM suspects this is due to the fact that while coke raises blood pressure this medication lowers it. Now SWIM does not want to mess with too much of either, as he understands that could be very dangerous, but is taking both together in small amounts ok? Maybe almost like taking a small amount of Ativan with it? SWIM in not taking about speedballing here but he wants to be sure and be safe. If anything SWIM thinks taking a small amount of Clondine with cola is a good idea, since it will keep blood pressure from going sky high, but he can also see how it could be dangerous or even deadly in high doses. Thoughts?

difficult question. yes, in high doses this is definetly not a good idea. but in small doses, it's hard to know.
what do the counter-indications say. It would would be good to know if this is considered problematic to combine with legal stimulants such as ADD/ADHD medicine, in their original doses. this is question can probably be asked to the manufacturer directly and might give an idea. if it's an absolute no-no, then this might be advice to be followed.

Well, I can see both why it could be good and why it could be bad. However, I just did a quick search on Google with just the key word Clonodine and it popped up Wikipedia for the second hit. The author of the page on Wiki seems to believe that Clonodine is used to counteract the effects of stimulants -- resulting in a waste of a couple of dollars. My opinion is don't worry about it. Blood pressure rises on a regular basis as a result of many things aside from drugs; running, working, or anything that places stress on the body has the capacity to raise your BP.

SWIM read that as well, he ended up taking another full 0.1 pill during the coarse of the night, again it did not bring him down from the experience but rather got rid of some of the negative side effects for SWIM. And again SWIM was not doing too much, maybe half a gram over 6 hours. About an hour or so after his last line (which was at 1 AM) he took 1.5 Mg of Ativan, it was around 2 AM by this point, he put on a movie was asleep before 3 AM. SWIM woke up this morning at 11:30 (8 hours of sleep) feeling fine, just got out of the shower and is ready to start his day, he is just starving, since all he had for dinner last night was an Slimfast Optima, as recommended by this forum, which he guesses is better than eating nothing

Swim use to be prescribed Clonodine, He would use it at the end of the night to help him fall asleep. Swim used this only when we was prescribed ritalin. Swim would take ritalin in the morning before school.. and take clonodine at night to help fall asleep.
