Side effects - most constipating opiate?

SWIM is blessed with a not-so-wonderful form of IBD called Crohn's Disease. SWIM has been relying on Imodium almost daily for about 75% of days during the past two years and is sick of the drowsiness and dizziness he gets from it. SWIM's doctors sometimes give him Oxycodone or Hydrocodone when he also experiences constant pain but his doctors are usually not very sympathetic. SWIM has noticed Oxycodone has the same effect as Imodium on his digestive tract while an equivalent dose of Hydrocodone has almost no effect on this part of his body. SWIM can easily function in his daily activities with the side effects of the non-Imodium opiates, but can't take the awful hang-over feeling he gets from Imodium anymore. If SWIM was to come across some sort of opiate (legally, of course), what would SWIM's best bet be to slow down his digestive tract as much as possible?

Swij's primary opiate has always been heroin, which keeps him nice (haha) and constipated. He usually shits about once a week or so, only when the pain becomes too much for him and he must. These weekly shitting sessions are horrible though, involving MUCH pain. (Ouch, fuck! did my sphinctor just rip?)

But anyways.... I would say the most constipating -legal- opiate would be morphine or oxycodone (maybe fentanyl). I don't know... I wouldn't take opiate to deal with IBS, but then, I have no idea how horrible IBS is (or if it even is horrible). Maybe something like 5mg of Oxy a day would help.

No, the oxycodone is usually for the pain and cramping SWIM gets during a flare up which render him unable to eat or drink. But of course, being an opiate, it does help slow down the tract as well, and SWIM surely doesn't complain when his nice painkillers cut his furious diarrhea down from about 6 times a day to 3. SWIM obviously knows he is high and finds it much easier to function high and drowsy than just drowsy.

Thank you for the response jerbles. SWIM isn't really looking for an opiate JUST for the IBD help, but he wanted some new things to try anyways so, why not try the ones with the best side effects for him? SWIM wonders how often you shoot up? Heroin has always looked like a very attractive choice to swim and he really wouldn't mind staying off that toilet for a little while...

haha. that really sucks dude. Any time I hear about IBS(IBD) I think of that movie the Ladykillers. But anyway, swij shoots up however much he can a day. Could be anywhere from 1 shot to 20, depending on swij's luck that day..

I would never recommend heroin to anyone really, unless I just wanted someone to be as miserable as I am, but if swiy is up for it, it sounds like it would help a lot. Swij has gone probably a whole month without shitting before while using dope.

People might say it's stupid to do heroin for IBS or whatever (or for me to encourage it), but look at all the junkies that use it just to use it. At least swiy has a good reason Swij has had terrible diarrhea before (withdrawals are a bitch) and knows how swiy must feel going through it EVERY day.

Overall, I'd say stay away from the shit, but it sounds like nothing else is working for you, so that's a tough decision swiy will have to make (don't expect anyone else to help you decide).

SWIM can usually deal with it but he is sure SWIY knows the feeling that SWIY just wants some relief for a little while. SWIM appreciates the advice here - he understands that starting this kind of thing is a slippery slope. SWIM loves this forum and how he can communicate with and get unbiased advice from all the SWIYs.

SWIM will think long and hard about the last line in SWIYs message - sometimes he forgets that.

And SWIM wonders if SWIY started with the "I'll just do it once a week, I won't get hooked" mentality. SWIM has that himself and is pretty sure most addicts start out that way...

SWIM finds the most constipating opiate he has used is fentanyl. Been barely shitting at all, since he started taking it 3 weeks ago.
