help getting prescription

Swim lives in Michigan and wants a prescription for adderall. He has visited his doctor about it and the doctor told him he needs to get tested. Some of the problems facing swim are: He is covered by his parents insurance and does not want them to know he is being tested/prescribed for ADD, in order to get tested for ADD Swim must be refered by his parents' insurance co. The reason a referel is necessary is because of the high cost of testing. Swim is afraid to go through this method because of his parents. Swim also attends MSU and was wondering if he could be tested there without the high cost because he is a student. If Swim were to get tested through the counseling center for instance, would the doctor accept the results of the test as if they were from a testing site refered by his insurance? Swim is also concerned about getting tested through his University due to the high rate of abuse of Adderall on campuses. If anyone has any helpful information about how swim can go about getting a presciption for Adderall with as little hassle as possible he would really appreciate it!

Psychologists don't just hand out script amphetamine salts to anyone. When I was 15 my parents took me to a psych because of low grades. He quickly diagnosed me with ADD. I'm not sure of the amount (mg) because I didn't look at the bottle. I had never used any pot or alcohol or ANYTHING at this point. Adderal made me feel like superman and it made me WANT to study and do well. My school grades improved dramatically. If you think you have REAL problems concentrating on tasks go to a psych, let him examine you and most likely you will succeed in getting a script if the psych sees signs of attention distraction. If you think adderal will improve your concentration, just tell your parents and they might help with the $flow. Recently a generic brand of Adderal has come out and the bottle label says simply "Amphetamine Salts". It's much cheaper than Adderal. Good luck.

You shouldn't be afraid of testing if you're scripted it, as long as you're prescribed it by your doctor, and have proof of it, there's no problem.

dood you need a new doctor. some guy i know(SWIM) can get adderall in quantities of 90x30mg/month and have never had a blood test or add test. find a better doctor man... its that easy

SWIH meant being tested for ADD, not getting drug tested.

i go to sdsu in ca which is known as a party school and wondered the same about them being hesitant to give a prescription.. but i went in for an evaluation and left the same day with a prescription. given, i had already been diagnosed by previous doctors and had proof. but i think most doctors won't hesitate if they really think it could significantly help you. at most universities health coverage is included in tuition i believe.

If swiy wants an ADHD test go to the phycological center at MSU. They cant release ANY information unless you let them, could harm yourself or others. Swiyour parents insurance provider cant tell swiyour parents about the testing or any meds for that matter for the same reason(swim is pretty sure but not totally positive about the insurance).

If swiy goes to take the test(swim is in the process of getting one done). Swiy will have an inital consult with the head of testing. It takes like a half hour. Depending on swiyour score swiy will go on to take a 5ish hour test(over the course of a few days).

You(being any US citizen emanicpated or over 18) have the right to privacy. No one can just give up info on you. It is protected by the Constitution.

If swiy does go in for a test they will give swiy their privacy policy and go over it with you. Also any counseling will give you the same stuff(swim has heard the same blurb over and over again. It gets old but its nice to know your rights)

Also that said I call bullshit on this post. The way it is written suggests that swiy is seeking adderall to abuse not for a legit problem. Remember it's the people seeking to abuse drugs that makes it harder for the ones with the real problems to get the drugs they need. Karma might come to bite ya in the ass later in life. Also if what swim suspects is true, dont bother with the test because unless swiy knows exactly what he is doing, their bullshit meter will be flying off the scale.
