Recurring illness after light ecstasy use

I use Eabout every 4 to 8 weeks, usually no more than one pill and always different pills. Almost every time within 36 hours of ingestion I find myself with a stinking head cold which then lasts up to a week. I am generally quite healthy, eat well and try to look after myself before and after the trip. I am 32, this only started happing this year although I have been taking for about 10 years. Is it time for me to give up? The week of being sick is not worth one night of fun. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this/ and or anyone had any thoughts.


My g/f thinks I should go to the doc and explain, but I am reluctant to be that honest with a doc...it all goes on record!

Have you tried boosting your immunesystem by taking vitamin supplements before and after your use? (high dose C+E and strong multivit)

I've had colds too after E use but since i pre- and post load i never have them anymore.

its essential that you build up your immune system before taking e and after, in order to 'toplevel' the amount of natural protection you can have.


it may be that your tolerance level has been hit, or cumulatively youve burned out your body's resources; kick in with the old vitamins and plenty of fruit n u shud feel betta; thats personal experience tho

Swim used to get really bad shakes after doing lots every weekend. especially when tired he'd feel really wierd like he was going to black out and had to kind of shake his head to snap out of it. He's calmed down recently though so it hasnt happened for a while

Could it be the pills?

Maybe try some different pills, as some people can have reactions to whatever the pills are cut with..

Go to the doctor for a full check. Especially of your imune system. Prolonged use will in a lot of cases result in some form of imune system deficency.

I wouldn't tell your doctor unless you are prepared to have it become part of your permanent record. Just like most drugs of abuse, E lowers your body's defense against becoming sick. Without taking a ful history from you and doing some lab work on you it is really hard to advise you. If you are really wanting to continue E I would go to the doctor and tell him/her that you are having head colds very frequently and would like to have some formal evaluation.
