30mg adderrall xr too much

Swim was prescribed these pills, but they keep him up too long. Can swim open the capsule and just injest half the beads? Will that mean it lasts less but still potent or last the same but less potent? Swim understands that there are two beads: one for immediate release, one for extended.

Also, swim took a 30 mg tablet today 15 hours ago and is still awake. He smoked a lot of pot three hours ago, and it hasn't helped.
