Simon Shepherd of TV3 reports on what the Melanotan II peptide is and how it has tanning effects as well as libido enhancement and appetite suppressing characteristics. The video shows a well tanned doctor who takes it herself as well as the doctor administering the peptide to a young woman who hadn't tanned since she was 8 years old but suceeded in gaining a tan using Melanotan.

I'd be skeptical of the claim about it being a libido enhancer. The PT-141 peptide being developed by Palatin Technologies was derived from the melanotan II peptide. PT-141 has been greatly hyped in the media as an effective libido enhancer, but SWIM tried a sample of it and did not feel any effect. (That reminds me, I need to write up his report.)

It also hasn't received very good reviews based on the other first-hand reports he's found elsewhere on the web. And those who do have something positive to say about it usually say that it works more at the physical level (kind of like Viagra) than at the mental level.
