Hey I'm new here. I joined to learn about LSD, in fact its why I'm going to college ironically enough. I want to go study organic chemistry, and eventually learn to make some of my own in due time. Hopefully by then it will be decriminalized under a Ron Paul presidency.
In the mean time i have been studying about/experimenting with organic chemicals such as LSD-25, LSA, Psilocybin, Salvinorin, Thc, etc. and I began to notice the similarities of them all. LSA, and LSD in perticular. Intuitively I figured pure LSA could be turned into lsd with the right chemicals. But all the instructions I've ever found were mostly too vague to work with. Would anyone here know anything about this synthesis?

Study in school and the knowledge will come. Also familiarize yourself with the rules of the site you might want to mention that your friend SWIM is the one wanting to play around with lsd etc.

It's not like meth...you arent going to find a simple recipe for cooking lsd. Go to college, learn the techniques and nomenclature and you will be able to better understand the mechanisms behind the synthesis and use whichever methods are accessible.

SWIM hopes SWIY doesn't take this the wrong way, but SWIY should be going to college because he really likes chemistry, of which psychedelic chemicals comprise just a small part of that huge world. Given the governmental restrictions on research of these chemicals, in all likelihood SWIY will have limited opportunities to work with his true loves, in fact it's probable that the only way he will be able to do so is in a clandestine sense.

That said, there are really interesting doors that could open, e.g., analyzing the chemical components of newly-discovered plants in the rain forest or elswhere, or work as a medicinal chemist synthesizing new pharmaceuticals.

Of course, at that stage SWIY wouldn't toy with scheduled molecules in his free time because that would be illegal, wouldn't it?

SWIY shouldn't count on this. Through quite effective propaganda campaigns over the last 40 years, most Amerikans are scared out of their socks by LSD.

Of course. Hofmann didn't build the lysergic acid derivatives from scratch, he started with an LSA structure built by Mother Nature. SWIY can find detailed instructions right on DF or an Internet search.

Go to school for whatever reason you choose but I wouldn't count on LSD being decriminalized in my lifetime so legally working with the chemical is going to take a lot of time and effort just to get approval to do so.
