Culture - Cocaine in gas tank?

SWIM's not a drug runner or anything, but the logistics of such things interest him, and he had the following thought and wondered if it'd work:

SWIM seems to recall that cocaine is soluable in petroleum and that actually is a method of production. Suppose a smuggler was to pour loose cocaine in the gas tank and drive acroos the border, then up to 50 mi to a point where he could drain the tank. The cola couldn't be seen (in solution), probably couldn't be smelled (covered up by gasoline+modern fuel systems are sealed to the atmosphere). Suppose 2gal of a 15 gal tank is used driving those 50 miles, and a third gallon is in the fuel line and such and is unrecoverable. Many people would accept an 80% recovery rate in exchange for a more or less sure thing at the border. Plus, depending on exact solubility rates, great gobs could be smuggled this way.

Surely I'm not the only one to think of this...

some trucks have 2 fuel tank thus no cocaine would be lost.the question is if it can be recovered without leaving toxic chems in it.
