oxytocin agonist - recreational
It's been noted that MDMA's effects through 5-HTA receptors causes a oxytocin release giving the euphoric, bonding and empathic effects. At least partially.
oxytocin itself is available in a nasal spray and as an IV preperation. Via IV is does not cross the blood brain barrier and therefore has no CNS effect however via nasal spray there is research showing that it does, is there a reason this has never been used recreationally? I know im probably inviting one of those 'Your about to smash your brain with a hammer' responses but im just curious. Thanks guys

Re: oxytocin agonist - recreational
There is at least one 5-HT1A agonist anti-depressant/anti-anxiety drug in the works so perhaps that alone is not sufficient as MDMA also causes massive serotonin release.
