dxm in conjuction with opiates causing extra nausea?

SWIM has never thrown up from a drug other than alcohol, with the exception the time he robotripped with robotussin cough gels years ago. SWIM has done just about every opiate on the books (that can be taken in a way other than shooting) repeatedly. He has gotten naseaous before, particually with methadone and poppy tea, but never that bad. With oxycodone he rarely gets naseous at all except with very high doses.

In the past SWIM never used any "potentian" methods, however since coming here he's tried a few. He's tried both tagament and robo cough gels before, as well as grapefuit juice, tums, etc, without problems. Today he took a dose of 20mg instant release oxycodone (a low to medium dose for him, he usually takes 25-40) orally, along with 2 tablets of tagament and 2 15mg dxm coughgels. He felt a bit naseous but good all day. All he had to eat today was a protein shake an hour before he took the pills. A few hours later SWIM popped another coughgel on his way out to dinner. During dinner he started feeling very sick, and ate little. After eating and drinking a little bit he realized he was going to vomit and excused himself to the resturaunt bathroom, where he did. Luckily no one suspected anything, but SWIM was embarassed and still feels terrible now, very physically sick.

His question is this: what does SWIY think caused this nausea? As SWIM has said he's never gotten sick from opiates before, and this was a low dose of his most frequently used one. He has tried tagment and dxm with oxycodone before (in higher doses) without a problem. Although it was only 30mg of dxm the other time, he doesn't remember the day or how he felt too well, and he had smoked some marijuana which probably helped. SWIM would definately like to know how this happened so he can prevent it in the future. He hasn't thrown up since a couple booze binges first semester and did not enjoy it. Should he just avoid dxm period in the future or could there be another cause?

swim assumes its the dxm, swim has used vicodin and percocet ALOT and never became nauseous, once swim used tagamet, 30mg vicodin and some robotussing and became extremely nauseous, since then has used the tagamet but avoided dxm and has been just fine
