What does "Integration" mean, in terms of LSD Experience?
I hear the post-trip term getting passed around a lot, what is its exact meaning and purpose? Should it only be used after negative experiences?

Re: What are the exact implications of integration?
Well in SWIM's company, afterglow means the time after the whole trip, when you think what have you done/learned on it. Usually a very good feeling, full of happiness and joy (depends really on the trip). Used mostly for positive experiences. Maybe some ofther definion is more correct but this is what SWIM uses.

Re: What are the exact implications of integration?
Integration is how you integrate the trip into your life and take that experience and try to mold something positive out of it. Everyone trips differently so everyone will integrate different aspects of a trip into their life. It is all relative, and dependent upon the current circumstances of your life. The afterglow is a time to sit back and think about what you just went through, but it doesn't have to end there. A good/powerful/moving/bad/whatever trip can resonate for weeks and have a life long impact. You don't necessarily choose how to integrate a trip, it will just happen naturally. Some people like to just sit back and look at the pretty colors, laugh their asses of etc....but some people actually take time to analyze the trip and integrate it into their life, most likely for the better.
Some experiences will have bigger impact than others. 2c-b for instance really doesn't give SWIM much that he can integrate into his life, but lsd on the other hand gives him so much that he doesn't like to take it too often. DMT can "show you the light," but sometimes it can be blinding and confusing. It all depends on your mindset, setting, dose, drug........Tripping gives SWIM a completely different view of the world and sometimes it is as if he is viewing the world through the eyes of someone else. When you step outside your body and the normal physical realm you see a lot of things that appear to be super natural. The universe might be explained to you during a powerful lsd trip, but what good is that information if you cannot integrate it into your life or at least feel changed in some way. Integration doesn't really need to be forced. Just go with the flow and whatever happens will happen. Having a positive mindset and good setting will help you achieve a state of mind which will being positive elements into your life. Bad trips will have a different influence on you but they can often teach you important lessons, your limits, flaws etc. Hope that helps..cool |

You learn things during the course of life, or the trip; now applying these enlightenments takes hard work and effort. Integration... How do we put the experience down, for future access? Art, music, writing, tape recorder ... Ahh, more thoughts later. |
