Why are people so ignorant in regard to opiod/opiate addiction?

Swim is extremely tired of people around him assuming stupid things,like "Swim uses opiates because he likes getting high."or "Swim is depressed and acting anxious because he is on opiates."When the reallity is swim is acting that way because he has no opiates.Swim really wishes people would mind their own business.They want swim to feel good,want him to be happy?Let him have the only thing that makes him feel okay and not hurt.Swim notices alot of people have really ignorant ideas about withdrawal.For example"It's all in the head,taking away all drugs is the best thing for an addict."Why do such beliefs persist?

well, i think there is just a huge gap in experience and no empathy has been formed from being in the same situation. if one could be rid of the drugs for say... a month, it could be the best thing but simply telling someone to stop, not weening and getting interventive (is that a word?) in pushy ways without knowing what it's like is retardive.

SWIY would be suprised at how many people take poiates on a daily basis and have no idea what they are doing where he lives. SWIM was one of them. They think of nothing but the buz at the time, not taking into affect that they just took 3000 mgs of act. The new group of dopers here are ignorant. Pain clinics have a wrap on a group of society and "owns" them. they take what they are given and dont complain. lorcet 10-650 for 5 years from a doctor,it happens here. There killin people.

^^This doesn't apply to swim,swim knows very much what he is doing.He certainly doesn't use anything with acetaminophen in it.

A lot of members in swims family are on opiate regimins. But when swim got hooked, swim was blasted by all for it. What really conduses swim is that a few of said family members take more damn pills in a day than swim would, but they aren't hooked because "they have real pain"
