Violence in Clubs

What are the clubs like where you are ?

That's a very open ended question, so I better make it a bit clearer..

In the last 6 months I've been to a lot of Old Skool nights in the Greater Manchester area (UK) and there's always an uneasy feeling that it's going to kick off in there. There are obviously the older folks like myself who are there for the music, but there are a lot of younger folks there too, who have a lot of attitude and seem to be there just to start fights.

They have spoiled a few nights, one where the night was ended early as a lad was beaten that badly in the club, he had to be carried out, and other nights that I've heard of, one stabbing (fatal) and a few shootings that have now closed two other clubs.

A lot of it (I think) is alcohol fueled, they can't handle their drinks, and a few pints and they think they are Rambo or something.

Do you find this where you are (mostly talking to the UK folks on this forum, but feel free to respond from all around the world)

There's a club in Liverpool that I go to once a month, and that never has any attitude, just a shame Manchester gets all the bad luck!

My solution would be to ban ALL alcohol in clubs, and incrase the door price by £5 which would cover costs of supplying ALL the punters with 2-ci.

There would be no trouble, although you'd have to employ a few 'helpers' to remind people what money was, what a coat is, and how to get in a taxi to get yourself home

I live in Leeds in the UK and i dont have any trouble with violence where i go. I dont really so to alcohol clubs though more clubs on the hardhouse scene. Iv been to manchester a couple of times. Once to The music box at sunrise which was friendly apart from the bounces accusing me of dealing when i had clearly not been. cant remember the other club

Somehow everyone in the club, the men, have a fight look in their eyes. Walking down the street, waiting 4 ur ride or cab. Everywhere. I hate it. I dont worry. But I dont like the atmosphere. Amsterdam and around especially Bylmer

in the uk there seems to be wider spectrum of clubs. you have on one side the dodgy back alley fight clubs and then the clubs all full of happy people that just wanna chat bollox to ya. then in the middle youve got all the commercial clubs which have their fair share of idiots
