Adderall XR - no effect on me?

Hey,

SWIM bought 10 of the 30mg Adderall XR capsules a few days ago.. it was SWIM's first experiment with Adderall.

He took one 30mg XR and within an hour he was feeling a high similar to an XTC buzz.. but different in a way.. either way, he felt very good, and very talkative, as he feels on XTC.

After about an hour after that when he felt the effects starting to diminish, he took another 30mg XR.. he continued this cycle, and within 8-9 hours he had taken a total of 240mg. He was no longer feeling an intense high off them, but was still feeling some sort of boost.

Today, 3-4 days later, he bought 4 more of the 30mg XR pills. He took 1 of them about 2-3 hours ago (with 1 cup of regular coffee) and is feeling little to no effect. About 20 minutes ago, he emptied out the beads of one of the 30mg XR pills, poured them into a small peice of tissue, and chewed the tissue thoroughly until the he could feel and taste them in his mouth. He then downed them with water.

Right now, he is still feeling little to no effects off them. What SWIM is feeling right now may be considered a very, very, very light "buzz".

Note: I weigh approximately 230lbs, so this may factor into it..?

What's going on? SWIM would appriciate some help/advice.

It seems, my friend, SWIY has found the best known as 'amphetamine tolerance'. If SWIY would like to continue along this path, he would either reccommend potentiation via piracetam or some nootropic, or with a few stomach pills- UTFSE. SWIY could also empty the contents of one of the capsules, crush up the beads in a folded paper with a hard object and return the powder to the empty capsule. Swallow. Try taking 2 if 1 doesn't do the trick.

SWIM appriciates the advice. However, SWIM plans to regular use Adderall (medicinally) when he returns to high school, as he is a recent drop-out looking to re-register for next year. He has been realizing that Adderall is a great remedy for everything that made him make the choice to drop out of high school. SWIM is writing another basic time log/trip report for Adderall as he does with most drugs, for personal reference.

He seemed to show a great amount of apathy to it, and could not care enough about it to concentrate and focus on it. Could anyone answer this question? And with what SWIM has said here (which is quite accurate), would it be suitable for SWIM to get a prescription for Adderall? Or should he continue to purchase them off the street (very cheap xxxxxxxxxxx).

SWIM would appriciate an answer to this important question.

SWIY could get a prescription rather easily. There are a few threads on this forum pertaining to that, I believe. Make sure not to play too much with the dose, and perhaps refrain from taking it all too often, to prevent tolerance and the urge of recreational use, which will reduce the efficacy of the medication when taken later.

Oh, SWIY will build up tolerance. But taking it daily will be benificial to your school work. SWIY will find it easier to concentrate and do tasks that before they couldn't.

One major thing that SWIY needs to know -- usually, it'll only work if you WANT it to work. If someone is taking adderall and trying to do work, and yet more interested in say, downloading songs...they'll be concentrating on downloading songs, not work.

I'm guessing the "high" at such a regular dose was caused by SWIY not being used to the feeling.

IN THEORY -- not suggesting -- SWIY could take the perscriptions, and sell the pills for a profit. Note, though, this is highly illegal, even more so than buying them off the street.
