Post SSRI & Exams/Revision

SWIM would be very interested in any anecdotal reports of other peoples experiences with starting or taking an SSRI whilst revising for exams or studying.

Did SSRI's effect concentration whilst revising?

Did they help?

Did the initial 2 week period interfere with learning?

SWIM understands SSRI effects can vary greatly person to person but would still be interested in any anecdotal information non the less.

SWIM is trying to understand SSRIs and finds the information very contradictory and would appreciate any info on the topic if available.

Yes, very much, you just don't give a shit about it, however swim was already on them for 2 months.

His marks dropped significantly. Anyway I think study is possible, but swim didn't try very hard as I said he didn't give a damn.

Re: SSRI & Exams/Revision

Swim agrees with Lehendakari. On SSRI's she could study, but didn't put in much effort, since she really didn't care about anything at all. Failing exams didn't even make her blink.
Swim wouldn't advise anyone to take SSRI's as a study drug.

Re: SSRI & Exams/Revision

SWIMs experience is that anxiety and depression puts SWIM off studying much more than any effects of SSRIs. Try not to use SSRI as an excuse not to study hard. I expect everyones experience is different on this one - my problem is that I often want to study far too hard and it does my head in. Lots and lots of things can distract from the boring task of revision, e.g. sunshine.
