GHB and Gaba

A friend of mine is very interested in the medicinal effects of GHB and wondered if anyone knew whether GHB increased GABA levels in the brain over time, if taken on a regular basis. ie will regular use generally lead to feeling calmer.

He's aware that it's reported to increase GABA straight after taking it (hence the alcohol feeling) with a subsequent Dopamine release (rebound - feeling alert) once it wears off, but there doesn't seem to be any info about whether there's any LASTING increase in GABA resulting in a much more chilled out person a few months down the line......
