SWIM's father is a raging alcoholic,and it is safe to say SWIM and his dad never had a happy father son relationship.SWIM's father passes judgement on him for being addicted to opiates when the man is a drug addict himself simply a legal one.Such close minded ignorance.If one can destroy their own liver and become an aggressive asshole and beat their wife and kid legally why can't someone experience the beauty of the poppy legally?I just felt a need to bitch about this issue.

SWIMs dad is the same way except he only knows about SWIMs weed and what he thinks small cocaine tasting. if he knew anymore it would be far worse for SWIM indeed, hes lucky to be swift minded and some luck.

Yah it's a pity that SWIM's father represents everything SWIM despises.The world would be better if all these anti drug conservatives just fucking died of alcohol poisoning and let us all live in peace and let us do what makes us happy.Its pretty difficult for me as I live in a very conservative state.The drug war has gone on far too long and has ruined far more lives than its helped.

Swim's father is a complete pot head, but critisizes swim for wanting to stay on painkillers for chronic back pain. His father smokes to calm down, because he owns a farm and works very hard on it. Swim takes pills so he can actually go to school without pain. I think they understand each other, but still cannot approve of each others habits. It's a father's duty to be worried though, I know he does not want swim to become an opiate addict.

At the same time all of swim's room mates critisize his legal opiate usage. Several of them are clearly alcoholics. Swim shut them up by saying that he needs pills to function normally, but do you only function normally when you drink?

I think swiy's father does not want you to become what he has become. Clearly swiy passes judgement on him also. I'm sure swiy doesn't want to hear it, but maybe swiy could convince him to come to rehab with swiy. I know swiy is trying to kick opiates and that is very comendable, so maybe he'll support swiy if swiy asks for help.

Swim's mother is a pill- and alcohol-addict. Swim's father doesn't need any drugs to be a complete asshole though.
Convincing SWIY's father to come to Rehab? Swim imagines asking her mother this. Her mother doesn't even believe she has a problem. "After all, opiates are clearly evil, and alcohol and benzo's can't be abused."
This makes Swim so mad.

Almost all the people around the world that make the laws that says we are not allowed to take drugs are the ones that enjoy a glass .. or two .. or even more .. and when you tell them how evil alcohol is(what is certainly is compared to most other drugs) they deny it, SWIM hates that.
Fortunenately SWIMs parents are very open minded and they know that SWIM does a lot of different substances, but they have faith in SWIM and knows it won't run out of hand, SWIM is very, very thankful for that.
