Cocaine entering the USA accounted for 80 billion dollars and 4000 tons of the white powder last year.
Methamphetaime use was 2,835 tons last year or about 60 Billion dollars Pot use is 25 tons in the USA or about 35 billion dollars a year. Combined that is 175 billion dollar industry. Research Chemicals are such a small % of overall drug use, the USA goverment does not even bother estimating the amount of RCs coming into this country. Swim would venture to say it is under $1 million dollars. So why is the DEA wasting their time having businesses research whether of not shulgin's chemical compound is used in their manufacturing process. Why classify them as CSAa if there are just a few isolated cases of teenagers taking to much. It just seems like a lot of work, a big hassle for businesses, the entire CSA list revised just to keep the compound out of the hands of about 1,000 people. Whereas research chemicals amount to maybe a million dollar business (.005% of drugs used)- coke is 80 billion dollar business, meth is a 60 billion dollar business and pot is a 35 billion dollar business. So swim can't figure out if the DEA is just stupid, or it doesn't see the big picture. Just looking at these numbers shows you the DEA is stupid allocating resources on a very small bit of the drug trade and not using the money elsewhere. RCs for the most part are not addictive, Coke and Meth are though. WHat should the DEA be focused on? No, swim doesn't believe a person should be jailed for a small quantity of drugs, but swim is amazed by how the DEA splits up its work load to be the most efficient. DEA - Leave RCs alone! They are not a threat to the american society. |

Re: DEA's wasting your tax dollars
Theres a long history of retardedness from the DEA. I wouldent be supprised if half the money they spend goes into secret cia stuff and not the actual "war on drugs", a war, which like all the wars they have fought since ww2 have lost...Miserably at the expense of the average joe in america.

And who and what is really the CIA? Some Mission Impossible type patriots running around planting true democracy? HA! They are the secret army of the Fortune 500 cartel. Here to save the bank accounts of those who don't even have to pay their taxes. |

Re: DEA's wasting your tax dollars
Well, the CIA has done a terrible job over these 15 years.
First, it failed to predict the fall of the Soviet Union Second, it convinced the press, the american people, foreign governments and the president that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction when Iraq did not, as it seems, have weapons of mass destruction. Third, the CIA failed in getting bin laden since 1997 Fourth the CIA failed to prevent 9/11. Huge Errors for a government agency paid to protect the american people. |

Re: DEA's wasting your tax dollars
Since most RCs not not physically or mentally addictive or killing people, Swim believes that the few deaths, which can be counted using swims right hand out of tens of thousands who have used RCs have occured was due to stupidity on part of the user not educating themselves.
These deaths are less then the deaths of people who use DM cough syrup in which 12 died last year. This swim calls for the DEA to do an emergency schedule on Robitussin DM cough syrup. Why does the DEA allow DM cough syrup on the shelves of drugstores, when it kills babies? Gee there only one death with 2ct7 which 30 mg was snorted, the DEA did a emergency schedule on it. Why not Robitussin Cough Syrup which has killed 1200% more people and causes hallucinations in high dosages in one year than 10 years of a legal 2ct7. My god, DM cough syrup has killed babies, 2ct7 never had done that. Where is the DEA? AP news reported that bad reactions to prescription and over-the-counter medicines kill more than 100,000 Americans and seriously injure an additional 2.1 million every year – far more than most people realize, researchers say. Where is the DEA? 100,000 people killed by FDA approved drugs a year ; whereas all their attention is on RCs due to very small number of deaths over a 10 year period and very few ER cases. Why is the DEA wasting both taxpayers and business money trying to classify RCs as CSAs. When the real killers are on drugstore shelves and dealt out by pharmacists. Such reactions, which do not include prescribing errors or drug abuse, rank at least sixth among U.S. causes of death - behind heart disease, cancer, lung disease, strokes and accidents, says a report based on an analysis of existing studies. Where is the DEA? TheWall Street Journal’s editorial said . “All drugs have side effects, especially when taken in large doses and over the long term. We already knew that more than 15,000 people die – yes, die – annually from gastrointestinal bleeding caused by drugs like naproxen and ibuprofen. Where is the DEA? New York Times front page story put “perhaps 16,500 deaths” in its lead. It would appear that lots of people – more than a third the total that die in traffic accidents every year – are being hauled off to hospitals and dying from bleeding ulcers after taking aspirin, ibuprofen and other generic painkillers. Where is the DEA? Oh, they are spending a lot of their time and tax payers money working on scheduling RC drugs that has killed one person due to that person's ingnorance. It makes the DEA look pathetic. 1 death (RCs over 6 years) vs over 100,000 deaths a year using FDA approved drugs. Hmm Where is the DEA? 100,000 people dying every year. So .000001% of drug deaths are due to an RC whereas 99.99999% of deaths occur with FDA approved drugs, yet it is the RCs which have the DEAs attention. The DEA's over the influence should be renamed over the top when it comes to the DEA and RCs. I know nothing has happen yet, but by their actions they seem hell bent on making them CSAs by that letter they sent out to businesses. Last edited by renegades; 04-02-2007 at 07:09. Reason: typo |
