Abstract Insight from Poor Set+Setting?

Has anyone had an abstract type of insight during unwise psychedelic usage? Poor mind-set, and (ab)use of any psychedelic (particularly the mind-distracting LSD[/LSA]). Possible to have a good trip, forget about troubles but soon later they seem to come haunting back. During said period, has anyone achieved any enlightenment or abstract insight in this depressed mood?

(there is a thread about depression)
But psychedelics would no doubt make it worse, and give greater mood-swings. Especially LSD/LSA ... having absolute power to the complete opposite days after.
While acid could disconnect one from reality, it will always give insight even if one is digging her/himself deeper into the abyss.
At least for SWIM ... artistic vision, (odd) philosophical insight, and creativity sprung (even) while in a negative state.

Has anyone else achieved strange, abstract, insight from (ab)use of psychedelics in poor set and settings?
And SWIM doesn't mean: "man, that bad trip really got me thinking, I should be kinder to people, respectful, ect..."

It seems unpleasent, paranoid, ugly thoughts would crawl into SWIM's mind but would make his paintings ... simply; more creative (common for artist+drugs), energetic, powerfull, - with much deeper emotion. Not necessarily better, although I would classify them as being so.

Anyone following me here?
This may apply only to a few ... and in no way would I encourage anyone, especially someone unstable to go against the rules;

Individuals currently in the midst of emotional or psychological upheaval in their everyday lives should be careful about choosing to use psychedelics as they can trigger even more difficulty.

Re: Abstract Insight from Poor Set+Setting?

This is not about LSD but.... SWIM would have to say her best pieces of writing were written when SWIM was depressed, and she found that while taking medication for bipolar (specifically Lithium) she was unable to write with any depth or feeling. Kind of like comparing poetry to a shopping list. SWIM believes that a lot of creativity can come from negative emotions, whether drug induced or not.

SWIM has never had a good acid trip though and got no inspiration during her bad one...... but SWIM thinks maybe if she'd had a few good trips first she might have handled the bad one better and then who knows..... anything is possible.
