After many hours spent searching for a vendor that will send an acculab vic123 across the border, success was had. Do you think there may be any issues that arise from ordering a "precision" scale or any scale for that matter through customs.. especially if they have possibly already seen other unknown packages/letters going swiy's way? Swim is obviously not intending to start a business, but regardless worries about how it may look.

if its going across the border, seein as y'all are party to the Commonwealth, yours' will likely get a call from customs, questioning the need for such a precise scale.

but in this day and age, precision is critical for most anything, be it the number of carats in that soon to be discovered diamond or the exact weight of pyrolized tobacco in one cigarette, or the comparative weights of rare 1913 US 5 cent coins in the dusty numezmatic collection...

I doubt there is, as there are many uses for a precision balance as mentioned above, (just tell them you are a budding numismatist).

If you have serious doubts, the customer service number is on the Acculab website and they are very helpful people. They might be able to suggest a shipper's agent. We use shipping agents in my line of work to get computers back and forth through customs in a reasonable amount of time.
