Combinations - Ambien + Kratom

SWIM just mixed Ambien + Kratom, almost unconsciously... he was gonna go to bed, so he plugged 7.5mg Ambien, then changed his mind and went for a low-moderate dose of kratom (7g or so), which he might boost slightly since he already dosed once on kratom today... this is a rare second dose for him in the same 24-hour period.

The combo should be interesting, as the two substances have drastically different effects. If sleep is imminent, SWIM thinks the kratom would at minimum draw out the time it takes for Ambien to knock him out -- at most it could overcome it completely and prevent sleep (that's what SWIM expects to happen).

SWIM believes this will ultimately be a kratom high that's modified somewhat by Ambien, rather than the other way around. More on this to come shortly, as the kratom begins taking effect.

Unfortunately this combination SUCKS... shaky, nauseated, overly wired in a bad way. Not recommended.

Gutted. It sucks being a guinea pig when things go wrong, but someone has to do it!

Weed and kratom have a wonderful synergy in SWIM's opinion. Stick with that.

SWIM repeated this combination today, having forgotten he'd done it once before. This time he used a lower dose of kratom, and avoided ingesting any plant matter (which it seems his stomach can't take anymore).

It worked out much better this time. The mild kratom euphoria + mild Ambien euphoria translate to a pleasant body load. Mental effects are quite cloudy + drowsy, but SWIM has no objection to this if the goal is to escape to a pleasant space where no critical thinking is required. Very nice. The key seems to be using extreme caution with dosages... too much of either substance will ruin the experience. In particular, there's a fine line between euphoria and physical illness where kratom is concerned, particularly if one's body isn't used to regular kratom ingestion.
