a/b into naptha from staright PM

swim recalls a time long ago wen he was a brand new bee, he went to many an old school bee to see the tricks of the trade, all the old bees showed him the old a/b with fuelite aka shelite as the np, some used smelly toluene, yeilds were'nt the greatest with the max of pse being in the 70% region. most used hypophos, swim adapted to red for cost and availablitity reasons,
recently swim tried used colemans aka naptha as the NP with an a/b, and whammo many a xtal formed before his very eyes after the np was poured off the caustic/PM slop, SWIM had never seen this before from his pllace of residence, not one bee used or knew of this NP, nor has he read anywere in these forums of naptha being used as the np with a h2o/ caustic water pull,
how would swim clean off the naptha from his shards. also swim tried doing the same type of pull post rxn and not 1 shard produced in the naptha.... swim was like fuk its not pulling , arghhh.. ive lost the lot!! then he decided to add a simliar np to fuelite to the nappy post rxn base , then he could see the familiar oily gear swirling around in his dual n/p mix and did his water/hcl 50/1 water pull vapping down to some nice pinnys.

Swim is curious WTF did the naptha shard up rapidly with the straight PM/water base and not with the based pos rxn fliud... any ideas?
