maoi's to enhance tryptamines
would it be possible to use an maoi like yage or rue to enhace a tryp like 4 aco det or mushrooms. if so how much would use?

In this text Ott speculate that MAOi's may actually decrease the activity of tryptamines. Then again a lot of people claim the exact opposite and the text is from 1996. |

i tend to disagree w/good ol' Mr Ott on this point, but of course, the proper agents must be researched with utmost attention to detail to avoid potential deleterious health interactions, esp when it comes to MAOIs which are nothning to screw around with lightly.

There are lots of accounts of people using maoi's with mushrooms to 'increase' the effects. Really, in SWIM’s experience (mostly with rue), it doesn't just increase the effects but gives the whole experience a different character. While making the trip much stronger and longer, it also seemed to relax him quite a bit.
Most reports I have read have been combo’s of maoi’s and mushrooms. Combining any maoi with a RC is really taking a risk and I would NOT recommend doing so in any way. Having said that, I do have one report of a SWIM combining AMT and a rue extract (yes, this SWIM was young and retarded to even try this but, he lived). He claims that there was no extra stimulation, BP felt normal and the only real difference noted was a very relaxed feeling with massive visual distortions. Also it lengthened the trip by quite a few hours… he doesn’t recall how many. Please use your heads here people! Doing research chemicals is dangerous business. Combining them with other RC’s is getting even more dangerous and in my opinion combining a rare and untested chemical with a maoi is not only dangerous but borderline stupid. If you MUST do such things you WILL first have a milligram scale and secondly start out with VERY low dosages. I still cannot recommend this at all. Play safe and used maoi’s with aya and mushrooms (still being cautious of diet and all). |
