Ephedrine/Adderall cross tolerance?
SWIM was doing some searching online and came up with the following statement for ephedrine's mechanism of action: "Whilst it may have weak agonist activity at α- and β-adrenergic receptors, the principal mechanism is to displace noradrenaline from storage vesicles in presynaptic neurons."
However, SWIM has always subjectively felt that ephedrine was affecting the dopamine receptors. Could anyone help SWIM determine if this source is correct? And if so, would ephedrine and adderall show cross-tolerance? They shouldnt if ephedrine is only affecting the (nor)adrenergic systems, but SWIM is almost positive theres some DA action going on too. |
