an anecdote about purity of heroin

Just a bit of info I picked up today that I thought might be a little interesting. I work in a Crown Court in the UK and recently sat in on a drugs case involving a group of men who were caught with 67 500g bags of heroin, a hydrolic press and lots of other incriminating paraphernalia. Just to give you an idea of how much dealers can rip you off, they also found several kgs of paracetamol and caffeine. The purity of the stuff they imported was 69%-72%. The purity of the stuff they were selling (probably in kg batches, so it would more than likely be cut further) was 34%-39%. "Sample" bags, which were given to customers before a purchase, were found, and these contained the purer, uncut heroin. Shady bastards. Then again, hardly surprising when you think about it. Drug dealers don't exactly have the best reputation . . .
