LSD Compared to Psilocybin
I've always had trouble putting into words the difference between these
two drugs. I know it in my head...but when I try to explain it to my friends it seems like nothing comes out or something that makes no sense. Mabye someone here can help me out? I know the differences mentally, but I can't put it into words... |

There are some major differences for sure, quite difficult to put into words indeed. LSD seems like more of an explosion of visuals for me whilst mushrooms are more of a gradual build-up drawn from the environment around me. It's as though I would be paranoid off my face walking down a dark alley on shrooms but if I did the same thing on acid, I would probably be too spaced out to even worry about potential dangerous circumstances. The overload of the mind's functions on LSD definitely takes me to a plateau that mushrooms wouldn't. However, I have had extreme mushroom trips that have resembled moderate acid trips in almost every way: visualisations, senses etc.

In my own experience (your milage may vary), psilocybin produces more coherent visual hallucinations(read as THINGS THAT DONT ACTUALLY EXIST)while LSD produces visual distortions (bends, morphs, makes breathe, things that DO actually exist). Also while psilocybin isevery bit as intense as acid i found it creates no feelings ofoverwhelming anxeity as acid does. Also a shorter duration byfar. -dc |

SWIM finds two distinct differences in mood and effect on his mind.
SWIM describes LSD as being more 'direct' and less of a 'meaningful' expirience as psilocybin (even extracted, although SWIM finds this somehow stronger when he eats actual mushrooms) and therefore in his expirience more lucid. He finds Psilocybin more controllable, but LSD makes him a lot more suggestible by external impulses. |

i actually find them very similar. LSD seems more prone to causing a
bad trip in my experience. psilocybin seems to make me think more intensely on a topic while acid seems to make my mind wander from strange topic to strange topic. but these differences are not very noticeable and if you were to knock me out and give me one or the other i might not know which i was on when i woke up. |
