swim recently had a UA and meth showed up, needless to say, they didn't get the job. swim SWEARS up and down they hadn't used in 2 weeks, but had handled the stuff only. (I think they are full of shit and used recently before the UA) how long does the shit stay in someone's system? and can it be "transferred" just by coming into contact with it? I seriously doubt it, so I thought I would post to some folks who would know more about this.

As far as I know Methamphetamine is detectable in urine for 3-6 days after use, But there are ALOT of things that can cause false posatives for Meth. such as:


Ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, propylephedrine, phenylephrine, or desoxyephedrine
(Nyquil, Contact, Sudafed, Allerest, Tavist-D, Dimetapp, etc)
Phenegan-D, Robitussin Cold and Flu, Vicks Nyquil
Over-the-counter diet aids with phenylpropanolamine (Dexatrim, Accutrim)
Over-the-counter nasal sprays (Vicks inhaler, Afrin)
Asthma medications (Marax, Bronkaid tablets, Primatine Tablets)
Prescription medications (Amfepramone, Cathne, Etafediabe, Morazone,
...phendimetrazine, phenmetrazine, benzphetamine, fenfluramine, dexfenfluramine,
...dexdenfluramine,Redux, mephentermine, Mesocarb, methoxyphenamine, phentermine,
... amineptine, Pholedrine, hydroymethamphetamine, Dexedrine, amifepramone, clobenzorex,
...fenproyorex, mefenorex, fenelylline, Didrex, dextroamphetamine, methphenidate, Ritalin,
...pemoline, Cylert, selegiline, Deprenyl, Eldepryl, Famprofazone)
Kidney infection, kidney disease
Liver disease, diabetes



So that is always a possability.

damn, I knew some of those things could show up as amphetamine based in a UA, but not all of those. I will pass this along to my friend. To my knowledge, they haven't ingested any of the above mentionedmedications. Maybe a few of the original Xenadrine RFA-1...but that is all I can think of. I know that would throw off a UA. It never crossed my mind though. Thanks for the help. I was beginning to doubt this person was telling the truth about things.
