I'm new here. A friend of mine suggested me to come here and ask for advice. This is what happened.

I went with a friend to get her grandchild for a weekend visit. When we got to the house, the people there including the mother of my friends grandchild was smoking meth( I think) I've only been around it a few times. Smelled like burned rubber. The child was crawling around and into everything. This is a baby of only 7 months old.

Ok, this is my delima. I have used in the past. So, I don't want to be a snitch. But I can't stand the thought of a baby having to go through this. Do I just let it go and hope for the best? Or do I run the risk of contacting the authorities and putting my life and my families life in danger? I just don't know what to do!!! Any advice would be helpfull and greatly appreciated!!!

maybe the first thing to do is speak your friend, the grand mother and tell her she needs to take care of the problem. bottom line if you feel a child is in danger you need toact. I would find out exactly what the child is being exposed to. I would treat it as if it was my own grand child,I dont patronize snitching either so do everything you can do to get the situation under control. Ifeel there aresome drugs among other things that arenot to be entertained with a small child around. Drugs and kids are not a good combo and forthose that feeL exposingkids to certainelements of this worldthen i say they deserve whatever they get and more.good luck

Please realise that if you act to rash, you may get a child in trouble instead of out of trouble. I agree with edgien; try to get a full picture and talk to your friend.

very good point Alfa....unless the situation is Extreme or a matter oflife or death I would suggest to keep any andALL Government agencies whether law inforcement or otherwise out of it,in many instances (which is more then not),and asAlfa has pointed outthe result is usually worse. I have very little respect for CPS (Child Protective Services) for I have seen firsthand the damage they can do. I once had a similar problem and I empowered myself to take the child away from the situation in order to get it corrected, I understand this is not alwaysas easy then said but you have to judgethe situation the best you can. You would be surprised what you can dowhen the need is present.
