It has become popular, the Government wants it banned, so now everybody’s getting raped on it.

One probe into over 1000 allegations of date rape found about half of the complainers had, unsurprisingly, consumed the No. 1 date rape drug of choice, namely good ol’ legal alcohol.
A fair spectrum of many other drugs was often found in the alcohol date rapees, but GHB was found in only two cases.
Further, given GHB’s extreme dodginess when mixed with alcohol, is anyone who has access to this drug likely to want to risk killing someone just so they can rape them?
Apart from necrophiliacs, of course.
And here’s the fuel to the fire, sprayed on by a gullible public… if a man wakes up next to a girl who, the next morning is much less attractive than she had been the night before when he was very drunk, he makes a hasty exit and thinks to himself, “Man, I must have been pissed.”
However, if a girl (not all girls, of course) now wakes up next to a man she finds rather hideous, she may well cry date rape.
