SWIM guesses he did a bit of a "rx speedball." His day started off with some IV hydromorphone (8mg). Once that was wearing off, 4 more mg of hydromorphone was injested orally. Suprisingly, taking it orally is not as weak as most say. SWIM then proceeded to do 2 small bumps of coke.
This was a very pleasant buzz. The fuzzy/warm opatie feel was strong, putting SWIM into a happy dream like state. The cocaine and opiate buzzes connected perfectly. No feeling really dominated the other but the two feelings do tend to go back and forth. One moment, you will be in a nice nod and then coke will pick you back up.
SWIM does not normally enjoy cocaine too much on it's own, but combining it with an opiate made the high much less anxiety driven. There was no paranioa, but SWIM still felt that great boost of self confidence and assurance that cocaine gives you. This rxspeedball was one of the most euphoric highs SWIM has experienced. It ranked right up there with heroin, lsd, and DMT.
SWIM agrees with what beltane said about the false sense of security the user might have from the opiates. SWIM did not want to shoot any coke or any more opiates, but if he had, he might have tried to chase the high too much and killed himself with either cocaine or hydromorphone.
Recently, people have been dying from uber potent fentanyl laced heroin so this too would add to the risk of a "speed ball attemption." The rxspeedball is definitely a more reilable method of trying this combo because the exact dose of the opiate is known. It would be nice to have pharma grade coke too!
Besides the phyisical risks involved, you have to think about the sociological characteristics of the people "speed balling." Not to stereotype too much, but a large percentage of people speedballing are the ones who are most addicted to these drugs, and are willing to put their health on the line to chase a high. Not many people inject cocaine....not man people inject heroin........even less people inject both coke and heroin. And then think about the road to this addiction.
Just a thought. Not to say everyone who speedballs is irresponsible, or addicted to drugs, but the number of people who just recreationally speedball in a "safe" manner is slim. The lifestyle of some of their lives is not conductive to a long life. Sad to say really, but some people just probably give up on life at some point and get so fucked up on this combo that it really doesnt matter to them if they die.
SWIM has never done a true speedball with smack and coke but he can only imagine how euphoric and addictive it can be. Cocaine IV is something that users tend to go overboard with, so combining it with an opiate is just asking for trouble if you are not careful. Just swims friends two cents. stay safe
