A very informative look at the use of Ayahuasca to help people overcome the problems in their life. It shows the importance of the whole ritual including fasting and isolation as well as the drug itself. It shows a number of different ayahuasca ceremonies ranging from the quick tourist experience which concentrates on the drug alone, to the holistic approach where the healers use the drug as part of a much larger cleansing and purging experience.

The snake in the title refers to the fact that people invariably see a vision of a snake while under the effects of ayahuasca, and the healing experience is considered complete when they see themselves being devoured by this snake.

wow, now that was very imformative. I'm just getting interested in Ayahausca, as of a few days ago. This documentary was a very good at describing the experience, and the pirge.
