It had been a couple years since SWIM had smoked cannabis. Things have been sort of hectic lately - between school, moving home, meeting loads of new people in a different country; all of which prevented him from relaxing with a joint.

For awhile, SWIM was content to settle for alcohol. He really does enjoy a good lager anyway, and ordinarily getting drunk is a fun and worthwhile endeavor for him. Eventually though, it began to lose its appeal. Hangovers began to drag on for entire days - sometimes more after a particularly long binge - and although SWIM is a relatively happy and behaved drunk, he did not much like the person he was becoming.
