From the album 40 Oz To Freedom

In school they never taught bout hamburgers or steak,
Elijah muhammed or the welfare state.
But i know.
And i know because of krs-one.
Yeah and i know and i know because of krs-one.

Because he's droppin science,
Droppin history with a whole leap of style and intelligency
Yes, i know.
I know because of krs-one yeah,
And i know i know because of krs-one.

Because we don't want to pay money to hear the same old sounds.
Watch him he'll take hip-hop to a higher ground.
And i know (how do i know?)
And i know because of krs-one.
Yeah, and i know and i know because of krs-one.

And i know
And i know because of krs-one.
And i know and i know

No Elijah Muhammed is not connected with them. He was a leader of the muslim movement worked with malcom x until he left because of political and morl issues

http://www.mimersbrunn.se/doc_print.asp?aID=5517 info on him

Do a google search for more info

KRS-one preached about these things in his music Im not sure if they knew him personally sublime is from LBC and krs-one is in new york so oposite ends of the country but both popular musician so who knows

Listen to some KRS-one you will understand why after you listen

Pretty sure sublime is just stating schools does not teach of these things KRS-one preaches these things in his music You did not know who he was and probally went to school. KRS-one music teaches about issues sometimes overlooked by regular means of education. But issues that need to be delt with or looked at such as Elijah Muhammed or the nations welfare state

What do these lyrics refer to? What do you think? Animal, vegetable or substance?

Want
by Disturbed

She want me!
Your mind won't let you say that you want me
Your mind won't ever, never let you say what you want
You howl and wail like a banshee
Still your mind wont ever let you say
Your mind won't let you say that you want me
Your mind won't ever, never let you say what you want
My little tired devotee
Your mind don't even let you feel

Quivering now, shivering now, withering
Your mind won't let you say that you're
Wondering now, pondering now, hungering
Won't let you say that you're
Questioning, wavering, weakening
You mind won't let you say that you're
Hearkening, listening, heeding me now
Won't let you say that you want

Your mind won't let you say that you want me
Your mind won't ever, never let you have what you want
I feel your hunger to taste me
Still your mind won't ever let you say
Your kind is just the type that should use me
But your mind won't seem to let you have
The opportunity to abuse me
Your mind won't even let you feel

Quivering now, shivering now, withering
Your mind won't let you say that you're
Wondering now, pondering now, hungering
Won't let you say that you're
Questioning, wavering, weakening
You mind won't let you say that you're
Hearkening, listening, heeding me now
Won't let you say that you want...me

Savor the addiction, savor the affliction, savor me
Savor the addiction, savor the affliction[2x]

Savor the addiction, savor the affliction
Savor me, savor her mind

Your mind won't let you say that you want me
Because your mind won't let you say that you want me
Your mind won't let you say that you want me
Because Your mind won't let you say
That you want me to want me
Your mind won't let you say
That you want me to want me
Mind won't let you say
That you want me to want me
Won't let you say
That you want me to want me

What do you want?[4x]

Cool band & song, BTW. I like very little so-called "nu-metal," only the groups Chevelle and Disturbed are on all my regular playlists.

Substance, definitely a substance.

Unless it's about a farmer coming to terms with loving his livestock. So maybe animal.

to each his own, but I think the band chevelle and disturbed should be
chained up tightly, thrown in pit filled with maggots, have Kirsty
Alley, and Rosanne bar standing over the pit, pissing, shitting then
throwing up on them, before Rush Limbaugh squeezes a big fat load of
nut onto their corperate, faggy little faces. Finally, I bury then
alive while jamming to The Misfits.

Gosh, you must not like those groups very much... http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Hey, I just listen to 'em while riding the bus, out in public, whenever I want the auditory equiv of caffeine. Obviously there's not a lot of talent in it, just anger/aggression... sometimes that's good enough. Ease up man, everything has its time and purpose.

P.S. yah I know you won't, one of life's small ironies is that people who hate nu-metal are even angrier than the groups they hate... http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif Edited by: Nicaine
