View Full Version : Ick. I might have tonsilitis..
I've had this horrible sore throat the past few days (right after I had
mono, so it could just be the mono). The doc said my tonsils are the
worst he's seen. Maybe I shouldn't have smoked with the sore throat.
But if I get them out maybe I'll get some codeine or something good.
Anyone else have their tonsils out?

No i do get tonsilitis alot tho... Look in ur throat at the tangly thing and then beside it on both sides if its white its tonsilitis, use a flashlight and a mirror 2 find out... then google tonsilitis for images and compare! They dont usually take em out but u wont get anythign other then anti-inflamatorys (sp?), amioxcillan, or penicillen and maybe some ice cream bud! Sorry to hear also tonsilitis will hurt when u swallow ur spit or food! Got those symptoms?Edited by: markdahman
Yeah, but it could also be a couple other things, I think. I'm seeing an ear-nose-throat doctor tomorrow to find out.
Yeah swallowing is almost impossible because of the pain. This really
sucks. I want to smoke some bud but it would make it way worse. Maybe

I dont suggest marijuana... i just had tonsilitis a week or so ago and
i ate a gram of marijuana cooked in a cracker (i think its called a
firecracker... im not sure, I didnt make it). All it did was make me
think of the pain and feel kind of sick... i threw up later that night
and felt really bad.
What I do suggest is a Percocet or Vicodin or a painkiller of some
sort. I took a Tylenol 3 (30 milligrams Codeine, 300 milligrams
acetaminophen) and my throat felt GREAT... i was able to eat, drink,
swallow, hell, even smoke a cigg or 2.
If you dont do opiates, then taking some DXM HBr along with a few sore
throat losenges works well also. I took 100 mgs DXM HBr and the had
about 5 sucrets losenges (not the DXM containing ones) and I had no bad
cough or sore throat. Similar to the option above, but not quite as
powerful... still fun though. Really gets your mind off being sick.
