Mate, I've been in a similar situation and the thing that really turned it around for me was exercise. The difference it's made is enormous.

Basically, you feel like shit for a week then everything gets better and the exercise is something you actually wake up and look forward to.

Swiming and cycling are the best ways to start, I found.

Try it.

My cat agrees with Jamal - exercise is the key - even walking. He has a feline friend who lost a lot of weight simply walking two to three miles a day (though that can be difficult if your pet is very busy).

But also he should try to avoid drinking sweetened (or even pretend-sweetened) products as an alternative to alcohol. Can be hard to start off with, but water tastes great when your pet gets used to it.

BTW he thinks that going six weeks without is a really big achievement. :applause:

SWIM has found exercise to be benefical in so many ways. Its a pain in the arse at first however if SWIY can push themselves to go the first couple of times it eventually gives SWIY more motivation and energy. Its weird but true. You would think that the more energy used the more knackered you would feel, but the total opposite is true.
When SWIM goes to the gym she comes out glowing inside and out. Try getting a gym membership cause even if SWIY feels lazy there is always a few gentle laps of the pool, sitting in the steam room (great for sweating the drink out your pores) or chilling in the jacuzzi.
When SWIY has been going for a while SWIY will be proud of SWIYs body and it will do so much for SWIYs self esteem.
give it a shot
