Wow, this is a new low for the DEA. Very cheesy! I remember in the 4th grade we had D.A.R.E. but that was no where near as bad as this. It's no wonder that half the kids who take part in these drug education classes totally reject the information. I'm all for drug prevention and education for children, but if they really want kids to stay away from drugs, they need to just present them with the facts without all the images of what the DEA thinks is cool.

I agree on all points...

Good lawd, did you see this lame rap they had on the heroin page? I'll post it:

SELLIN' LIFE

Sellin the drug, the coke, the dope,
It leaves you feelin'
That's there's no hope.
There is no power in the white powder.
If you sell the stuff, you're really a coward.
'Cause all of the clothes and cars and stuff,
Will make you think there's never enough.
Your cash is gained through others' pain.
Your life becomes one of shame.
A life of running away from life,
A life that can be full of strife.
A life that's filled with violence and guns,
Fast and quick and over-run
With Hate and Death 'til day is done.

.... I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that.

LAME? I think it is very okay that they are doing this. Come on people, show some support.

Heroin isnot a cool drug at all.

It is important to know that drugs are serious substances and should be handled with respect. Kids do not have to suffer from peoples stupidity.

So okay the rap might sound lame,... but you have to read between the lines,.. then it is not so lame anymore.

i think this will draw more people torwards dope, than from it.....imean any kid who sees this will react in a reverse manner....selling life, sigh

maybe DEA should consider employing real fckn dealers and addicts, not some 28-yr old white trash straight outta harward types, its all sooo contraproductive....let the kids see the requiem for a dream, not some lameass whitetrash nevertouchednodrugrapperwannabesEdited by: daeron

I also found it kind of funny how the little "prevention posse" is very.. how would you say.. Barney. Like, there just so happens to be someone from EVERY race in it. Lol. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just think it's funny how on all these 'kid-geared' things they force this amusing ethnic poopoo platter on ya.

Note that nobody in the booklet who is black is actually colored properly. This is obviously because all black people do drugs and it wouldn't be honest to include them into an anti-drug program while properly colored because it would be implying that some of them aren't crackheads.

[EDIT: that was sarcastic, by the way. i don't actually think all black people are crackheads, i was just implying that the government does]

Seriously, now.

Check out their thing on internet safety. (http://www.fbi.gov/kids/k5th/safety2.htm)

"Remember that people online may not be
who they say they are. Someone who says that "she"
is a "12-year-old girl" could really be an older man."

lol. I can imagine a small 12 year old boy reading this and wondering
if that chick he has been talking to is really an "older man". hah

Prevention posse ha ha ha. I remember D.A.R.E was bad but this is just stupid. The information is presented in such a retarded manner. A third grader is gonna think this is a joke. These people are slingin bunk drug prevention pamphlets.

"When someone asks you to sell drugs and tells you that you'll make a lot of money, don't believe the hype! You're at the bottom of the money-making pyramid, which means that you'll be making pennies compared to what others in the pyramid make."

HAHA don't sell under someone start selling yourself and get it all strait from the source...

That just pisses me off, they're basically saying "drugs are bad, this
is why we think drugs are bad, and if you dont agree and you try them,
we'll throw you in a cell."

Fuck that, people should have access to un-bias, un-judgemental information about drugs, sites like erowid.

ahhh... but whats the point in me ranting on, it doesnt get us anywhere http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley6.gif

If they really want to keep kids off drugs they should just bring in old smack addicts to talk to them instead of thisrediculous "Lets try and be hip and cool," shit. I remember people from DARE who would startdoing drugs just in protest of the program.

Is it just me or does it seem like the DEA wants </span>kids
to abuse drugs? I mean if they were all taught the truth and behaved
responsibly thousands of people would become unemployed. ATF
agents,FBI,State Police, Local Police and drug counselers all out of
work. Oh and please dont forget all the drug dogs put in shelters.http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif

i see your point. people predict that cars will one day be automated, but then cops couldn't give tickets. in the 90's the meter maids in los angelis went on strike becaust the wanted a raise. LA&gt; lost 3 million dollars in a week.

just the same with drugs. if the government controlled drugs, it would pu a lot of therapists, rehab centers, not to mention the DEA. out of business. sure they would make money off the drug system they set up. but there would porbably be less people employed in the end, and thus less tax payers.
