View Full Version : People - Dr. Hunter S. Thompson has died
not sure if you guys heard yet, but the author/journalist Hunter S. Thompson died last night. He committed suicide by shooting himself. none of the news reports i read had too much detail about it though. he was a good author. i enjoyed fear and loathing in las vegas a lot, and im currently reading hells angels, which is pretty good.

Hunter S Thompson was a great journalist... he will be greatly missed
in the world of journalism. I personally was very sad when i heard this
news. His writings were so amazing and his style was smart and witty.
There will never be another writer like him.
Rest in peace Hunter S Thompson.
Long live Gonzo Journalism!!!
He was one of my heroes, I didn't necessarily agree with everything he wrote, but I respected and admired his ability to express himself on his own terms and still be understood. Most people have to compromise in order to communicate, but he refused to budge. He just said what he said and then it was up to you to figure out what it meant. Many times you would find the best of his thoughts hidden between the lines, thoughts not easily formulated with words. Often when I was reading his booksmy feelings of loneliness would leave, like I was reading a letter from a brother who had traveled far away. Knowing that other people were reading his books made it feel like we were one big family.
Well, enough sentimentality. Rest in peace, you will be remembered and missed.
