OK, so what, in your opinion is the coolest method of taking drugs? We've got:
Smoking, injecting, swallowing/ eating, drinking, snorting, via mucous membranes (e.g. gums), rectally
Did I forget anything?
Personally, I'd say snorting. Smoking and injecting seem kinda dirty, swallowing is a bit uninteresting and if you think rectal administration of drugs is cool then you're really weird. Snorting, on the other hand, is really classy and fun. It's the sort of thing that's goodfor parties. It's social and nicely riualistic. (Yes, I do know about the long-term damage to capilliaries, but thats not a problem if you take it easy.)

Personally I think snorting or orally. The reason behind this is sometimes it is best to do illegal substances without drawing attention and these two methods are very easy to do and leave no evidence, while people can see/smell the smoke both in the air and on you. You can snort something just about anywhere you are if you are creative.

Well it totally depends on the kind of substance you like mind alter
with because, 'whats cool for one shit isnt for the other hit'.
The only reason why snorting is 'kewl' is because of the snobbery
attached with coke in some society circles,well with prices like that
it sure will reach the rich and famous!,most meth-heads will eventually
resort to smoking/injecting for efficiency reasons..
In the psychedelic circles its the trip that is most important,ha ha,no
wonders that smoking dmt(tastes like burning rubber!) is the 'leet'
thing.

It depends on what the drug is, but I'll just rate them in order from
coolest to foolest (haha) as an 'in general' kind of thing here:
1. snorting
2. oral
3. injection
4. smoking
5. other (rectal, vaginal, et al)

Snorting and smoking are good, especially when it comes to blow. For me though it has to be the needle.
I started drinking when i was 14 and did my first drug, weed, when i was 15 which i smoked of course. I dropped acid about a year after that. That was about it until I was 19 or 20 when i was introduced to the she devil cocaine which i put up my nose. So i dropped and drank and smoked and snorted all those early years yet i always thought about the needle. I dont know if it was the movie Sid and Nancy or what or just reading about it but i always was drawn to the needle.
I never did it for the longest time. My imediate friends werent into it, i had no idea how to do it(no internet then), and i had a fear of putting a bubble the size of a dime into my heart. Anyway a few years later i started smoking crack, and in my dreams about cocaine i never snorted or smoked-i always had the spike.
So i quit doing crack-thats another story-and moved back to my home town. This is just a few years ago and now the pills are all the rage. A friend of swims gets a broken neck and a script of dillys to go with it. Dills are nice, dills are good. First i eat em then we snort em. A year ago swims friend asks if i want to shoot up.Some one had shown him the way and now he was gonna show me.
The first time i had a hit he only gave me half an 8 because he didnt want me to get sick. I was a little disappointed that i didnt get a rush, it must have been because i had built up a little tolerance from snorting them all the time or that i was a little drunk at the time. Anyway the next time i did the full one and Wow-nice tingly rush followed by that warm glow-cant beat it.
Since then ive shot coke which is pretty much the same as smokin rock, well it is probably better if u can find uncut stuff which is impossible in my part of the globe lol. Ive shot most of the pills u can shoot, but none beats dillys in my opinion. Cant find H here either but im itchin to try. Shot K once and that was just weird. If swim ever gets a clean batch of meth ill have to try that to.
Anyway blah blah thats my story and im stickin to it, my point is i like shooting up. Alot of people think it is dirty, including my girlfriend who tolerates my methods although she calls me junkiehttp://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif. I dont think it is dirty-just efficient. I shoot in my arms and i can wear short sleeve shirts in public with no worries.
I vote for the needle, but if anyone who reads this and is thinking about it just remember to do your research and be safe with it

i never really thought about it as a cool kinda deal, but it all
depends on who your trying to impress or what feeling you are going
for. Different administrations give different vibes towards
others who watch you do it. Needles make you look dirty and like
a junky. It is too hard to say really, like if somebody snorted
an adderall, you would think tweaker most likely, but if you were doin
coke people would think power and money (thats just comin from a guy
who has seen the movie blow multiple times), you know, its all personal
opinions. These examples are all an interpritation of the general
publics eye mostly. I enjoy snorting though.

Snorting for me...just love the burn from meth so much that that pain became part of the ritual (as I've heard many snorters report)...I don't give a shit about what looks cool or what other people think makes me look better. In the community I'm from, the most accepted and encouraged way to do meth is to smoke it, which I've done many times, but I always would go back to snorting because I just like it a lot more.

Suppositories
Injecting. Less painful than snorting, in my opinion. More
conservative in terms of quantity, usually. If you're working
with clean substance and needles, then it's probably less likely to
harm you than snorting. That is, if you don't screw up and get
scars in your veins and such. Also it never makes me nauseous
like pills do.

I agree with snorting. Personally, I like the little "drip" of substance that hits the back of your throat after a minute or two. With heroin, that taste is a GREAT way to tell if your high is gonna be good or shitty.
again the best way to take drugs depends and what the drug is...the best feeling off a lot of drugs is too inject it, especially coke and opiates...dont fuck with meth so i dont know. One doesnt make another safer, its just the way you prefer to fuck up your life, i mean shit if you are going to ruin your life, miught as well get as fucked up as you can get while in the process
You guys snorting is totally out of fashion. Hasn't really been cool since the '70s, well maybe for part of 1980....
I think the coolest way is orally or subinlingually, on some kind of
cool medium -- blotter or cool-looking tab or etc. Maybe a sticky
blotter that sticks to my tongue so people I talk to can see what I
took for hours, or leaves a little tongue-tattoo for the whole evening.
But really what I want is drugs I can drop into my eyeball like Visine, and it turns my eyes a different color for the night.

Yeah, I'd love to drop some liquid onto my eyeball that would make my pupils dilate. I suppose you could do that with liquid LSD. It's a nice metaphor for the way the drug will alte your vision and perception of the world.

I dont think doing drugs is cool at all. Its just something I
do. I think the funnest way of taking them is smoking them.
The effects come on quick so you can easily adjust your dose.
In my opinion injecting is the cleanest way to take a drug, but only if it is sterile. Snorting seems a bit dirty to me, if you think about it; you snort through a note, which has passed through thousands of hands that could have anything on them. Swallowing is cool because you dont have to put in much effort.

If the substance is active oral, I prefer that route for a number of reasons.
First of all, it is the healthiest. Secondly, I like to trip
balls for extended periods of time, and usually a given substance will
not only take longer to come on orally, but also will give the desired
results for a longer period of time when taken orally.
I like to smoke joints, when I'm in a hurry to feel high, and when I
don't have all day to be high. But I really enjoy cannabis the best in
mega-doses orally in baked goods, or "green dragon" ( soak the weed in
high-proof drinking alcohol and do shots). It can get psychedelic
like that. Yea, it uses up lots of weed, but so what. Get/grow
lots of weed instead of little baggies of it, and it's no big deal.

Snorting is interesting, but most stuff tends to just thrash on the nose. SWIM says crystal meth can be painful to the point of agony, and cola ain't always the easiest on the snotzer either.
As far as convenience, ease of use & safety... I volunteer simply taking stuff orally by mouth, or under the tongue. By no means is it the best in terms of getting the most high, but in every other way SWIM greatly prefers it.Edited by: nanobrain
Snorting definitely has to be up there - it's classy, spohisticated and
ritualistic as you say, but smoking a spliff has to come a close second

1. Think about how cool you look when you go to a party and produce a

4. I would say smoking weed is even more ritualistic and "cliquey" than
snorting coke - you have to select the weed (hash or skunk, what type
of skunk, what type of hash etc. - almost reflects the personality of
the user) select the method of smoking (bong, pipe, spliff,
lung/killer/shottie, bucket etc.) ...

if you think snorting is the classiest you should never share straws. I've got 2 friends who contracted Hep. C from sharing straws. That aint too classy. In fact I would be a little apprehensive about using any bills at all since most people spend'em after using them. It's not all that classy I don't think when I talk to someone and they're more into their drip than anything at all. Don't get me wrong if you like that method great but don't kid yourself into thinking we all think you're classy. I prefer oral. Things are not usually as obvious. Thats classier in my circles (not to appear to be on something but rather tobehaving a better time than everyone else).

Think about this: the most overdoses come from IVing, or from snorting.
Junkies don't overdose from smoking or snorting heroin. You can
overdose quite easily IVing cocaine. The deaths and overdoses
associated with 2c-x's come from snorting too much without knowing
about the strength of the effects.

My dealerdoesn't have heroin and I don't do coke or speed or stimulants that you can inject.
If everything is sterile, it's the cleanest most efficient way and you never have to worry about gettin naseous from taste. The actual reason is I just have a huge thing with needles, especially medical needles. I love em. =D
My most common way is oral though. I've snorted once and that kinda hurt and gave me a bloody nose.

When you inject coke, if it is pretty pure and pretty strong, you imediately taste it. And sometimes it will make you puke, espeacially if you haven't done it in a while. You thinkthe drain from snorting taste good?Shoot it and all you taste is pure coke from the inside out. This is what i've been told.
I always prefer methods of ingestion that:
a) bring me up quickly
b)require the minimum quantity of the substance
However I don't like needles and I don't fancy itup the bum. That all basically means that smoking and snorting are the best wasy for me!
I would have to say snorting, better onset for the stuff I've done and dosage seems to be lower - saves money and time.
Injecting seems to be a possibility too, I may try it if I feel like getting some clean seringes and needles.

ive never tried it but it is supposedly second to shooting up for effectiveness.
Injecting, for me. And I would imagine that most people who have
injected on a regular basis would agree with me. I know a couple of
people who have given up the pins and returned to smoking, but it's
pretty rare - and, sadly, just not as good a buzz.

I think injecting is one of those methods where if you have not done it, you would never understand it, or even find it exceptable. I have never shot anything up, but I can understand that it would give instant and powerful effects. Honestly though, I will never shoot anything up, because I could never justify increasing the risks for a high. Even clean needles, over time, can increase risks of bacterial infections.

what would be the most ideal beverage to mix an rc into so that it doesn't taste so bad and also doesn't take any effect away. does the volume of the beverage make any difference with potency. I've read on my adderall info that they found taking (adderall) with orange juice lowers the potency because of the acidity. Apple juice they say works the best. I know shulgin is always writing about taking with OJ but that's fiction right? (ha, ha). What is the best beverage for say a 2c-x to be dissolved into? Does it even dissolve? or does it just float around in there? I really don't know. Swims wife has a hard time swallowing anything that's reallybitter but he doesn't want to mix it with something strong but wrong. Please someone let me know. I've also heard it's best to have not eaten for 6 hours prior in order that you don't vomit from the nausea.

If the question is about the "coolest" way then the answer has to be
transdermal. Doesn't work for everything, but for those things it works
for it's got everything else beat by a mile on the 'coolness' scale.

As far as efficiency goes there are really only two ways to approach 100% absorption--syringes and suppositories.
Oral subjects it to the HCL in the stomoch and first-pass metabolism by the liver. Very innefficient.
Snorting absorbs through the intranasal membranes, but you know that
"drip?" That's stuff that's going into your stomach. See above. Plus,
unless you pluck your nose hairs (and I mean deep) </span>then lots is just gonna stick in there until the next time you sneeze or blow. Very innefficient.
Smoking actually burns a good quantity of actives with lots of things,
like MJ is only about 30% efficient smoked. Plus if you breathe out any
smoke that's waste. Plus if smoke rises from your bowl that's waste.
Very innefficient.

because you jsut swallow it and you are done, there is no ritual

Nicely said... IMO using drugs to be cool is the best way to really screw yourself in the long run. I smoked cigarettes to be cool back in H.S. and here I am close to 25 years later with beginning stage emphysema and a lifelong habit I can't break. And that's just cigarettes.

that said after reading will white's article about dissociativesswim wont be doing any for a very long time.
swim snorted pills before and nearly threw up due to all the nasty shit in them. a friend who did the same actually spewed, making what was the start of an lready nasty comedown worse.
plus unless you have a really good man who you trust inherently then who knows whats going up that nasal cavity?
swimknows from first hand experience that 'coke' is rarely pure as swim has been sold daz(as in the washing powder) and paracetamol ground up. imagine what that could do to your nose...
I don't have an opinion of the "coolest", but my favorites are oral administration and snorting.
I like oral administration because it's very easily and very clean. There arn't many tell-tale signs of oral, because once it's down you're throat, there's nothing left behind. It does, however, lack the ritual that snorting has. Snorting has that "fun" with it. The chopping, lining it up, and enjoying a job well done. But it is accompanied by signs (like any left over powder, whatever was used to crush the stuff, or constant sniffing if it starts tickling the inside of your nasal cavity) that can give you away.

If I should mention the "coolest" way I think ist´s snorting. I thought It was because a former cocaine adition leaves kind of a "nasal craving" attitude. But looks like many different subjects leads to a similar conclusion. Also, it´s not that easy to OD nasally, you don´t need to carry anyincriminating stuff (needles, rolling paper, bong). One piece of advice, take a couple of notepad seets in your wallet and use it instead ofamoney note(who know´s where it´s been), do not share your snorting device.
Besides that, orally is probably one of the safest ways to ingest a drug since stomach is prepared to deal with many more crap than the nose does.

Wow, I can,t believe how popular snorting is . . . my nose hates snorting anything, and I,ve read several different sources stating that Hepatitis C can be passed on via sharing a snorting pipe / notes etc.
My favourite method of consumption is smoking, I love the warming feeling of dragging on a pipe or spliff and passing it on. But I don,t like smoking chemicals, just herbs. For everything else its down the hatch. The stomach has the advantage of being able to say "hey man, thats too much, its comming back up!".

SWIM thinks it depends on the substance but if all substances could be administered in all ways heres the order he would pick:
1)Snorting-Easy, fast acting, very intense, and easily hidden.
2)Smoking-Also Easy, fast acting, very intense, but not so easily hidden.
3)Rectally-Not so easy, fast acting, very intense, after a few mins easily hidden.
4)Sublingually-Easy, fast acting, intense, but taste can be bad.
5)Transdermal-Easy but boring(although SWIM has never done before)
6)Oral-Easy, slow acting, less intense, long lasting, boring
7)Injecting-Not so easy, very fast acting, very intense, but i hate needles.
swim has done all of the above and there is no beter way just depends on the substance where you are and whom your with.
The topic is listed as 'preferred method.' This would depend entirely on the substance. SWIM's favorite substance is K and SWIM's preferred method of administration is IM. IM is actually his favorite method of admin period because it involves a needle, which usually means a good rush, and it's incredibly easy unlike IV.
That said, the only substance SWIM predominantly administers using this preferred method is K. Anything else that goes in a needle seems to go better in a vein.
Someone mophed the thread into "coolest," so SWIM chimes in on that too. IV is romanticized in movies and books and the joy of the ritual and most intense onset of most substances makes IV, in SWIM's mind, the "coolest."
Must add, if you're not into needles save yourself the trouble, hassle, danger and/or pejorative of your choice and stick to things like smoking, snorting and swallowing.
If one really wants to experience the feeling of IV "just to see what it's like," SWIM recommends an anal administration. One get's 90% of what they would from an IV injection and takes no chances of picking up the needle more seriously. CAUTION: Don't fuck around w/ anal injections. The tissue is extremely absorptive (hence the similarity to IV) and can be extremely dangerous if not done correctly. Treat anal administration as seriously as you would mainlining.

For SWIM, it greatly depends on what drug he is taking.
But in an over-all sense:
1.Oral
2.Smoking
3.Drinking
4.Snorting
5.Mucous Membranes
6.Rectally
7.Injecting
Oral is the best, safest, and easiest. So its #1.
I don't exactly like snorting, because of the drip/irrateded throat.
I like smoking, but only certain substances. Such as marijuana, tobacco, salvia, etc. No meth, No crack. You can't drink much, but whatever you can drink, is fine. Boring, but fine. Never tried Mucous Membranes, but it sounds alright. Never tried rectally, but I don't really want to, either. Injecting is just too dangerous/addictive with most substances.

Hands down the needle for me,
I know it's not big or cool in particular and alot of people look down on it in a streetwise sense. But it offers the fastest onset, most intense, shortest experience. That generally what is sought after with most drugs, excluding ones used in relaxation.
I think if the user is clean and careful or in a hospital setting then it's ok.

Definitely smoking, with eating on a close second. Tincture is cool but insuffulation isn't SWIM's thing unless he has to.
Smoking > Swallowing > Drinking > Snorting > Rectally > Injecting
Swim would never inject anything. Really seems like an extreme to go to, especially when swim is mainly interested in hallucinogens and other mind drugs, not drugs that are of purely recreational purposes.
Smoking is the easiest way of ingesting most substances for swim, and swallowing is quite easy, though it can be unnerving as once you swallow a pill its in you! Drinking is next, though not including alcohol, but just for extractions of substances. And so on down the list, though swim uses the first three the most by far.

yea personally i find injecting something a bit harsh and OD's are also easier to come by, allthough this does come from someone who has never injected anything before in his life.
I think the best is smoking and the coolest snorting BUT what about huffing (like doing nitrous out of baloons) its efficient but kinda looks dirty.
Personally i think i would go in this order-
Smoking>oral>snorting>huffing (nitrous, not glue and crap like that)>anal>IM>IV
