SWIM's been taking Clonazepam for a little over a year now and Ambien for like 3 or 4 months. SWIM was wondering if SWIM were to just stop taking Ambien, would the Clonazepam stop any Ambien withdrawal from occuring?

After only 3 or 4 months, taken properly, Ambien withdrawal should only entail a night or two of rebound insomnia, which Clonazepam could indeed help, I suppose.

SWIM meant that since Ambien is pretty much a benzo and Clonazepam definitely is a benzo, shouldn't the Clonazepam stop any withdrawal from Ambien? Since they're both almost benzo's. Does SWIY know what SWIM means?
Ambien isn't a benzo. It acts similarly on the brain as many benzos, but with a higher affinity to a certain subset of receptors. I don't know if this is enough for what SWIY is thinking of "stopping any withdrawals." I think it will at least help.

He Takes 4 a day for the buzz.hallucinations and diet control.
Puts his stomach to sleep like Phen-Fen.
Stopped on a dime no W/D's but he had xannies for back up.

"ambien is pretty much a benzo"
That's a pretty bold statement. SWIM would be more worried about the clonazepam withdrawals than the ambien withdrawals. If SWiyou does infact have withdrawals then the clonazepam could help. Benzos help for opiate and alcohol withdrawals so its a possibility.

Right.. Raven is not responding to me but he is correct
on both counts. Ambien is not a benzo and Clonazepam is
tough to with draw from.
Basically if you are a heavy benzo user and want to quit you have
3 choices. Cut your intake by .125mg every 3 days,
Follow the Ashton Method (google) or check into the ER.
This is just my opinion from what I have read.

Yes it would stop withdrawals but, swiy might suffer some insomnia for a while since ambien is a hypnotic.....
