I don't really know any... there are of course a ton of songs about heroin, coke, and even pot... but I rarely hear of any about DXM or K or any other dissociatves. So if you know any, please post.;)

There’s only a few songs I know of that mention dissociatves. The one about DXM that comes to mind is "Sippin' on Some Syrup" by Three 6 Mafia.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

There’s also Big Moe’s album “<?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Syrup City,” but I’m not sure if that’s referring to codeine or DXM.

Patti Smith has one...I can't think of the name, I was searching for it
but its an old obscure song from the seventies...anyways she sings in
the song about chugging a bottle of cough syrup.

marilyn manson - dissassociative

There are a few more, theres a song with the line "cough syrup helps you relate to the dead" I don't remember the name of.

You posted the song with that line. It's Leftover crack - Burning in water.

"Cough syrup helps you relate to the dead

drink it down & swell up the brain in yer head

welcome to the state & crush what you believe

living the lies of the laws you concieve

yer trapped in the web of the world that you weave"

DXM is also very briefly mentioned in Left Over Crack - The Drug Song.

Thanks club222, there is another song I got it confused with.

You'd never guess it mentions DXM if you didn't see the lyrics though, the singer is too growling and garbled to make shit out.

Placebo - Special K

Has anyone else noticed an extreamly loud banging noise in this song?
The only time I can notice it is when I listen to it on my headphones
and it scares the shit out of me everytime (unless I realise that its
coming) I can barely notice it on my speakers but it sounds so loud on
my headphones.

These are some of the ketamine songs I have found. To be honest ketamine doesn't seem to inpsire great songs! The forst one is by far the best, aprt from Special K by Placebo.

Ketamine Entity by Higher Intelligence Agency
K-Hole by the Pet Shop Boys
Octo Realm/ Keatmine Sun by The Fall
Lost in the K-Hole by the Chemical Brothers
Through the K-Hole by Wayne G and Stuart Who-- (a whole album, featuring Through the K-Hole, Ketamine Angels, Disco Dealer, etc.)
Ketamine, by Negligent Collateral Collapse
Vitamin K Experience (a homage to the scientist John Lilly) by Frederik Thordenal
Ketamine by Carfax Abbey
Comatose (ketamine 45mg) by Front Line Assembly
Ketamine by DJ Vortex
Ketamine (varous mixes) by David Lara vs Julaian Poker
11:35 (ketamine USA Iinterlude) by Aesop Rock
Ketamine Gonna Kill Techno by 69DB

Then there is:

ECCO; Remixed by PBC, an album 'by' John C. Lilly (not specifically about ketamine but....)

I'm almost 100% positive that song is about heroin, actually.
You never know, I could be wrong though.

As for the Songs About Dissociatives... I don't know any, although I am looking for some aswell. Particularly about DXM. I don't want some rapper talking about 'syrup', I wan't a muscisian, playing music ment to be listened to while under the influence. Big difference there.

swim says it doesnt get any better than mc chris "robotussin", and stands by that. captures the experience perfectly, from the overexaggerated movements to the "frankly, the feelings fucking fantastic/i'm trippin harder than jesus in the desert when he fasted"

I have to agree you can't go wrong with mc chris - the tussin. I talked to him after a concert once about it, he said he stuck to the syrup and never did CCC, smart guy. Though he is against dxm now.

There is this one band I know, Velvet Cacoon, they dedicate their whole sound to dxm. Here's part of an interview where dxm is discussed:
The sole word “dextromethorphan” appears in dark gray on a pitch black background on the back panel of the “Genevieve” CD insert. Dextromethorphan (DXM) is the ingredient present in cough syrup and cough medicines that induces psychedelic effects when consumed at sufficiently high doses. Why did you decide to devote an entire panel of the “Genevieve” CD insert to dextromethorphan and would you consider DXM to be Velvet Cacoon’s “drug of choice”?

It can be found in cough medicines, but we obtain dextromethorphan powder through a pharmaceutical research company. It is easier to pack the chemical into capsules and swallow them whenever needed. Dextromethorphan is a dissociative, like ketamine and pcp. It offers a very profound experience, granted you can handle large enough doses. This is definitely our drug of choice and we are quite taken with the mental addiction. Personally, I have been using this chemical for 14 years now and my tolerance has become a thing of legend amongst those I know. Devoting an entire panel to this drug still does not do it justice in light of what it has done for us. We never record or play live unless our blood is polluted with this chemical. The 18 minute ambient composition "Bete Noir" which appears at the end of "Genevieve" is designed specifically for the experience of this chemical.

There are different worlds to explore. You must be intrepid in order to take a large enough dose of this and hit the upper 4th Plateau. These drugs enlighten us by opening new channels of thought which the sober mind cannot help but ignore. Drugs open hidden doors and allow new patterns and modes of thought to be initiated and implemented. We view drugs not as a source of fun and a tool to numb, but as a teacher. We will not use these drugs forever, only until our lesson has been learned, then we will begin the next phase of existence where we will continue our pursuit of attempting to understand what this is all about. This strange existence.

I should clarify, for those who don't know, what the 4th Plateau is. The experience falls into one of five categories, Plateaus 1-4, and Plateau Sigma. The 4th is where we prefer to keep our heads as often as possible. It is the dose nearest death. It is when full body anesthesia kicks in and out of body experiences as well as near death experiences occur. You lose all color in your vision and you experience the incredible and unspeakable. I am very fascinated with out of body experiences and surreality; it is like delving into a completely new world. Those who use this drug frequently can certainly hear that "Genevieve" has a sound that feels similar to the drug, a very intentional measure. I could write a book here about my experiences with this chemical, but these things are best kept in the sanctity of my own mind since it is so hard to truly translate into words an experience like the upper 4th Plateau. I highly recommend everyone experience it once in their life. Everyone should live for the art of experience, because people will continuously discover things which they never thought they desired yet subliminally craved all along. I'll try and find some sound files to post up on the music forum. Their sound is pretty unique (refering to the only album worth listening to-Genevieve) , but if it must be classified, I'd say it's closest to black metal. Not the Cradle of Filth crap if you've heard them, I mean oldschool underproduced repetitive atmospheric black metal. There's constant distortion, they abuse reverb alot, and the drumming is basically simulating a heartbeat. The vocals are like a whispered rasp. the music is very trance inducing. I dunno, you'd just have to hear it.

I see quite a lot of these songs have been uploaded to the Music (http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=139) section.
