Seriously whats with everyone listening to dance tunes on pills, the best thing to listen to by a long shot is dark side of the moon by pink floyd, even if its not your usual cup of tea just give it a go and i'm sure you'll love it.

billyloner
28-01-2005, 16:06
yeah i might try that. ive listened to it coming down. you know at the stage where youve gone to your room, lying in / on your bed, unable to get to sleep but not willing to do owt else? it rocks then. totally. only problem is, it starts you getting nice and relaxed, then suddenly the alarm clocks kick in and your like "what the fuck?!" http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Yeah, Pink Floyd is awesome... at any time. But everyone seems to
appreciate it more on Drugs. What I really want to hear is some
Aphex Twin, Autechre or Yasume, or some other Intelligent Dance Music..
In a nightclub, very loud.

Anything by 'Armin Van Buuren'!

Saw him play in Godskitchen a month or so ago, his tunes have such amazing breakdowns, add a couple of real intense 'rushy' pills, and you got yourself some amazing rushes!

Me and my mate were having the most amazing rush, we were stood on two podiums facing the stage, looking down on the sea of people on the dancefloor, when two of my female mates came up behind us and started giving us head massages just as Armin was spinning some real trancey tunes! Simply amazing!

Thorkelson, Maglev... I couldn't agree more that Floydare fantastic and such a mind expanding group... But 4 me I think there's a time and a place for everything.... Floyd for me are the bestrock bandever (I grew up with them through my acid+weed years 12-18+) and they were the first group to make me realise that i wasn'tthe only one who thoughtso deeply about life/love/death/war/society and the world as a whole andplus it was Gilmour who made me get off my ass and go out and buy a Guitar...

BUT, when lov'd up with my m8's either at a club or a house party I just love OldsKool/House/piano(88-94) tunes to dance/bounce around2 till the early hour of the morning and just have a laugh too ...Floyd n the likes shouldcomeon about4/5am+ at the end of the night to chill outand todriftaway to when your in a world of your own and just want to driftaway to another place..

I don't see anything about rap on this post, but next time you roll play some Mac Dre.....its amazing. The best stuff of his when youre rolling is some of the newer stuff like The Genie of The Lamp or Ronald Dregan. But really give it a try even if you dont like rap. I know some gothic/long dark hair/earring everywhere, guy who only listened to rock but after he rolled and listened to it, he has loved rap ever since.

Here are a couple artist that I listen to while I am rolling.

D-Devils, Darude, and I also have a lot of songs that I jus named techno. I have the titanic techno mix, mortal combat, zombie nation, almost anything techno. But if you want an awesome song while rolling get Eric Pryds - Call On Me

bowlingforcindy
29-04-2005, 17:17
i hate that song - Eric Pryds - Call On Me

out of touch by uniting nations is a good one, i prefer it to call on me

30-04-2005, 01:49
If theres any around I'll listen to some rave, but normally I listen to Porcupine Tree, very Pink Floyd influenced. I also listen to a lot of metal and classical music when i'm rolling.

i forget who mentioned it, somebody on here, but i found it really nice
with some good techno. www.shoutcast.com and just download some
trance streams. My fav song has to be the first techno song i
heard and the first song i heard on x, paul oakenfold - set me
free. I feel so girly when listning to my DJ sammy, but damn i
love that when rolling.

Ian Van Dahl- Lake of Xstacy, Amber-A Little Bit of Ecstacy, Gabrriel & Dresden-As the Rush Comes, Shpongle-Crescent Suns, Shpongle-In the Hands of The Shamen, Shpongle-Once Upon The Sea of Bliss. Also for a "spiritual" lift that just might restart your roll on the comedown: Peter Gabriel-Sky Blue,Loreena McKennitt-The Mystic's Dream, Sarah Brightman-It's A Beautiful Day, Sarah Mclachlan-Silence, Sarah Brightman-The Second Element, pt.2, Clannad-Croi Croga.

anyone heard "here in my room" by incubus? i haven't heard it yet while rollin but everytime i listen to it i think damnn this would be awesome on x! next time i want to pop in the incubus cd cuz there's a few songs by them i bet would be pretty great.

only rolled about 5 times so not too experienced. i can't rememberEVERYTHING i listened to cuz i wasn't in charge of the stereo but i do remember jimi hendrix and i loved it. i didn't dislike techno (hell i didn't dislike ANYTHING!) but i was definetely feeling the mellow music a lot more.

oh yeah definetely remember listening to the pixies- "where is my mind" for the first time while rollin and since then it's been in my top ten faves! thanks GerhardV for reminding me i'm gonna play it right now!

I have been looking for a song I heard one of the first times I ever rolled. I am going to attempt a description and hopefully someone will be able to pinpoint it.

It had a rolling base beat and a man's voice sayhing things in a kind of echo. One of the things he said was, "Do you remember where you were the first time you heard house music?".....

THe guy talked and asked questions through the whole tune, but in the background.....

There you have it.....let me know.

THanks!

1200 Mics are amazing: Twisted Psy-Trance (amongst other things).

An entire album with drugs as song titles. SWIMs favourite is the one that goes: "lets all take some MESCALINE....." (and who could forget their blinding cover of Money for Nothing by Dire Straits)

She's also very fond of "Converting Vegetarians" by Infected Mushroom, although that really can't be put into any genre/pigeon-hole

swim used to hate trance or house when beaned up.

always was some good d&b - lots of Dom & Roland stuff

D&R - Thunder will blow you away when rushing, then the build up in Imagination is something that you dont want to wait for, but is awesome when it comes

coming down - Ilya is a good bet or dj goop for something chilled but still in the vibe

Breaks. They take you on a ride.

Anything dj icey, adam freeland, baby anne, plump djs, etc. TONS of different greats djs, but those would be some of the best, especially to dance to. These would be swims tops picks if had control of the music, but 99/100 times, he doesnt.

But see, rare to see a break dj to be honest around here. So have to deal with whatever is playing. And it is usually awesome anyway. Dj caffeine was always playing great music to get down to. Swim has also been out of the loop for about 2 years. So is ready to see what they are playing in the chicago clubs these days.

Swim went into someones car once on e and they were playing rap. Swim tried to throw it out the window. Swim had no interest of hearing about his terrible life and how he had to hustle on the street to survive.

You NEED dance music on e. At least swim does.

What music do you listen to while rollin? Is there any particular song that really gets you up!!!?
SWIM likes to be in the comfort of her own home while (< and usually starts off the night flicking through the music channels. Then as the night progresses and she starts to feel a little buzz comin on she lays out her entire cd collection on the floor clearin a little space so she can get up and dance when the feelin takes her!

SWIM likes to reminisce when shes rollin and has a few tunes that are always garanteed to get her up....

1. INXS ~ elegantly wasted
2. MICHAEL JACKSON ~ dont stop till you get enough
3. JANES ADDICTION ~ just because

SWIMS gonna make a "rollin CD" and would be interested to know your top 3 tunes....

The Kinks - Lola
Pink Floyd - Green is the Colour
Mother Love Bone - Stargazer

I'm not into the whole trance/house/d&b thing, but i'll listen to it of that's what people are blasting.

I might say one night rolling at home by myself there were two tracks that got me bouncing off the walls, although very corny.

Rick James - Superfreak
Rick James - She's a Brick House

Oh MJ Thriller is good aswell.

Alot of those 80's songs are made for pill heads, although that was never the intention.
