I am an intelligent and consummate IT professional with an excellent but sometimes stressful career however I am chronically aware that I have a drinking problem. I consume at least 8-10 bottles of wine in a working week and sleep for less than four hours a night.Although I have approached medical advice I have never been able to admit my problems and have now become a seasoned actress at hiding the evidence. Can anyone suggest where I can go for some unbiased and unpretentious advice to get me started and off the path of self destruction.
Check out the Iboga posts. Anybody from the UK with an answer?
Have your tied AA? It works for a lot of people.
Obviously there must be something else that is driving you to drink excessive amounts of alcohol like that?
Sometimes the best method is to find the source of the problems. It may not be an obvious problem, but it could be a past or present experience that is haunting you or is stressing you out considerably!!
Another thing is...Do you consume the alcohol whilst out with friends or while you are by yourself?

I don't know, I drink alot, and I know I have a 'problem', although I manage to prevent it from interfering from my functional life, and I know I can stop if I have to, but when I have the finances and am bored I find it hard not to go by the Liquor Store, pickup a mickey and have a few drinks...
