alright swims is coming off suboxone, has been on it for more than 1 year, and was at the highest dose perscribed, which is 32mg a day/ 16mg 2x twice a day. now the thing swim hates about suboxone (buprenorphine withdrawal) is that it lasts a really long time. wayyyy longer than heroin, which is what drug swim got on suboxone for in the first place. these bup withdrawals las ike a month or two, instead of like 7 days. swim would rather suffer more intense but over in 7 days withdrawal than a little less intense but WAY longer withdrawal and day. swim went to his doc this morning and swim told him he was having his usual anxiety but coming off the sub. he def wanted to make me feel comfortable while withdrawing but still gave swim the usual 20ct, 1mg clonazpem pills. now swims doc seems very interested in helping him get off bup so swim is pretty sure he can get him to give more. swims been to detox and they give high amounts of librium (chlordiazepoxide) along with chloral hydrate for sleep and a bunch of other meds. swim knows he needs at least what they give him at detox to get through this. swim just wanted to explain what hes going though. what he really wants to know is if regular doctors will ever prescribe an "at home detox"? it would cost wayyyyy less money and be sooo much better for swim and swim thinks he could actually get off the stupid shit like this. so swim basically wants to know if docs do that kind of thing, or if anyone else has done it? thanks.
