Swims new addiction! Help and advice needed

Swim has been using benzo's for a couple of months. He uses them for recreation not for any medical purpose. He took them for a couple of weeks solid in the evening then had a week off and felt no ill effects. So swim cut down to once evrey 4-7 days depending on his week.

Swim has been taking xanax and diazepam often combined. The last few times swim has used xanax alone and spaced it out 5-7 days.
Swim has now got withdrawl symptoms.
Mainly numb fingers and toes and fatigue and generaly feeling pissed off.
Today swim had bad stomache pains, and diarreah. Swim is not sure if this is a bug or related to the withdrawal symtoms. He is feeling very cold also.

Swim has been 6 days now since his last xanax, and previous it was 9 days then swim got on some opiates and ate one! Today has been the worst yet. Yesterday swim was fine. He seems to just seems to have a bad period over an hour or so then he don't feel so bad.

swim can handle the withdrawal, even though its not nice its tolerable. But should swim take some valium when they get like this?

If swim manages to take a couple of valium and waits a week, then less valium say a week later and day later would this make it easier? If it will just string it out and possibly make swim worse in the long run he will just put up with the symptoms.

Sounds like the xanax alone because of the short half life.
Swim would take the valium instead and taper with that.
It has a long half life and easier to withdraw from.
Swim has been taking xanax for 20 years approx 1.5mg
per day and he stopped and took valium 30mg per day for
3 days and felt fine. Kinda boring but no w/d.
Then he went back to xanax for more enjoyable buzz.

Swim plans to use that too.

swim has been perscribed clonazepam and has found he as well is forming a new addiction. he uses his clonazepam way faster then he's supposed to. and when he doesn't have any he gets it (or other benzos) from his family, friends, or whatever. swim always gets clonazepam, lorazepam, or alprazolam. anyways swim has been taking them pretty much every day for about a month and wonders if he will have withdrawal symptoms.

swiy may find your ok if you stop, try for a day or so an look for any unusal symptoms. swim found numb/pins and needles in fingers the first. But everyone may be different!

swim hasn't had any for a few days and noticed a little numbing, a really bad headache, AWEFUL anxiety that is at an intensity swim didn't have before ever taking clonazepam, last night was really hard to sleep, and last night he started having involuntary movements!?!? that shit was kinda fucked up swims muscles were spasming. does this sound like withdrawal?

Swim tried abstaining from the xannies for a few days and while sleeping
started grinding my teeth (resulting in a fractured tooth)
but got #30 Vicodin which was quite rewarding.
Otherwise the W/D symptoms were sweating,tremor,clenched jaw,twitching eye
but no seizures.
My advice if you consume alot of xanax..have the clonnies or vals on hand
for tapering due to their longer half life.
They are boring but relaxing,and reduce the horrid w/d's from xannie's
