Doing so will avoid confusion on this international forum. Thank you.
If SWIY has had such an extensive history of medication usage, I'll doubt SWIY's doctor would mind it much to up the dose, when neccesary, always be hones to SWIY's doctor, so they can make a good judgement about SWIY's treatment.

if anyone in the future reads this, my apologies. if SWIM takes all his meds together, he can get a little goofey. To wit, the meds SWIM is on are :
clonazepam
lithium extended release formula
hydroxyzine PAMOATE (as opposed to hcl)
omeprazole
metoprolol
some SWIM has tried include:
haloperidol
resperidal
olanzapine
perphenazine
Quetiapine
sorry for any confusion!

Just be honest and tell your dr. that you feel that the clonazepam is improving your condition and that you feel that increasing your dosage might help. Ask him what he thinks. I don't know much about all those other meds that you are on so, I have no clue what he might say. Hopefully, you have a good relationship with your dr. and feel comfortable talking about things like this with him. With you taking all those other meds, I doubt he will think you are a drug-seeker just for asking his opinion about increasing your clonazepam dosage. I mean, if it's helping ya then it's helping ya. Wanting help for a medical condition is no crime.

SWIM is currently on .5mg clonazepam. He has many other meds too. .5 seems to help but swim feels that it would be best to A)up the dose B) try a different benzo or C)Keep the same some, with additional small script for say, lorazepam or diazepam for "breakthrough." Any thoughts?
Don't ask about how to get drugs from the doctor. If there is a problem then it will be obvious to the doctor that something needs to be done. No one here will help anyone out in planning an activity like this.

Nota Bene: SWIM just wanta to clear up . meant no ill will, that is to say he wasn't asking for anything illegal, or how to con the doc or anything like that. SWIM simply wanted to know if, being honest with his doctor, if blatantly asking for an increase in dose, or a "booster" of another would be kosher. SWIM actually got every idea from local pharmacists and other health profressionals, that is to say, THEY recommended plan A, B, and C. Doc is a specialist and SWIM doesn't get to see him often...SWIM wanted a variety of options to discuss with the doc.
Again, my apologies, I meant no harm or violation.

Why not tell the specialist your problem? Instead of telling him that 0.5 mg isn't enough and asking for more, you could tell him that you feel some relief, but that you are not quite satisfied with the drug. Better act naive and don't mention dosage. Let him make the decision.

SWIM understands this question.
SWIY are the only one that can answer that question!
