View Full Version : Combinations - Nicotine and Klonopin (Clonazepam)
Swim was wondering if Nicotine shortens the effects of Klonopin. Swim has tried searchiing everywhere, but swim can't find any evidence that it does.

Please always include the chemical name of pharmaceutical drugs( in your posts. This can be easily obtained from Google or other search engine. Doing so will avoid confusion on this international forum. Thank you.

swim is perscribed to clonazepam (Klonopin) and is a daily tobacco user (smokeless/dip) and has never noticed any shortening in effects. but then again clonazepam has a really long half life so swim doesn't think one could notice it themself. but swim always seems to feel the clonazepam more while having a dip. swim has never heard this theory but would be interesting to know.

not sure if clonazepam is affected by nicotine, but I was just reading a package insert for alprazolam and it states, "alprazolam concentrations may be reduced by up to 50% in smokers compared to non-smokers.
EDIT: SWIM searched two different clonazepam package inserts and did not find the words nicotine, tobacco, or smoker mentioned. She was going to upload the package insert for clonazepam but there didn't seem to be an option to do so... maybe SWIM is just tired.

SWIM doesn't notice but does get anxiety about it(which is silly) as he is prescribed clonazepam (klonopin) and smokes cigarettes. He only felt this way after he found out about the alprazolam (xanax) effect, which seems to be pretty true.
