Time Travel Experiences

So a friend of mine who has taken plenty of psychedelics told me a story a while back and it got me wondering:

Have any of you heard of time travel with substances? If so I'd love to hear them. I'll try and sum up my friend's experience but he could probably tell it better...

He said that on the night in question he had gone up to the mountains to a friend's house, this friend's parents didn't mind drug use but had left for a few days and so my friend and his friend had the place to themselves. Some snow had just fallen and they had a fire in the fireplace and a pizza baking. My friend had gotten ahold of eight windowpanes of lsd and gave four to his friend. He also had about 2 grams of mushrooms leftover from some time before. The FOAF decided to take only two panes and save two, but my friend says he had just taken one two days before to test it and wanted to make sure he'd trip well so he took all four (!) Now this LSD he said had a "weird vibe" to it, each batch he takes he notices slight differences, consistent within the batch and sometimes with others' experiences. Since they had the house to themselves for over 24 hours he figured he may as well make some mushroom tea as well. He brewed up the mushrooms and planned to split it with his friend but the FOAF declined, so he prepared to drink the whole batch himself.

About halfway through the batch he found he couldn't drink any more tea. His body apparently realized what would happen if he did and outright stopped him.

He proceeded to trip like he had never tripped before. The FOAF turned on the television and they watched it while they waited to come up, within 30 minutes he could not stop giggling and marveling at the profundity of the show that they watched. He tripped for about eight to ten hours and then felt himself coming down. As he came down with his friend they sat down and turned on the TV again.

The SAME EXACT SHOW came on. Not only that but the same show afterward! He thinks that twelve hours had passed and when he looked at the clock it read as the same time! He says he "knew" that if he wanted to he could have leapt back in time to when he had began his trip. He only had to believe hard enough. He thought about the intensity of his experience and did not want to relive it and so focused on doubting his time-travel ability instead...

To this day though he wishes he had tried it, as he remains certain he says that if he had focused his belief through some Sleight of Mind techniques he knows he could have traveled twelve hours into the past. He just worried that he might get stuck in a time loop, and that he would have to go through the most intense trip of his life again.

Anyhow, I found it fascinating, and would love to hear from others about any similar or different experiences with time travel.

Re: Time Travel Experiences

Swim has tried self hypnosis and gone into a trance which was like leaving reality altogether. For some reason this seems similar because time seemed to stand still. Swim has also been able to induce lucid dreams and out of body experiences through hypnosis.
The strange thing about the hypnosis was that when swim was in it, swim became faced with this piercing blinding white light in the shape of a circle. Swim wonders if this may be some form of epileptic shock from it or something...but that piercing light thing got in the way of it and made it impossible to continue experiencing the realm of it.
One night swim actually remembers levitating out of swim's body and sort of transcending, then this noise came and swim was pushed down. It felt like it was deliberate...but this noise and light thing have been probably good and bad for the effects of OBE's. Swim has read that tinnitus can induce OBE's. Swim sometimes had tinnitus but it never really helped with astral projection.
This trip experience seems strange...sure this wasn't set up by someone?
It seems too easy of a prank. Since also the LSD had a weird vibe to it.

Re: Time Travel Experiences

The friend feels quite sure no prank occurred. The place he had this experience in had satellite television and so the "sober" explanation comes something like: the channel ran the same programs over and over for a weekend or so during the summer so that those who missed the prior season could catch up for the upcoming fall new episodes.

He still believes he could have jumped back through time, that perhaps the LSD acted as a catalyst with the right time and place to allow possible time travel but he has not had any chances since then to try this. Whatever "reality" may have occurred we truly believe that human consciousness has far more power than objective reality if one can merely remove that implacable wall of Doubt.

Re: Time Travel Experiences

SWIM had something like this happen on salvia. His first experience with the plant was VERY intense, he loaded about .4-.5 grams of 30x into a bowl and took the whole thing. For a time he blacked out, then he awoke and was a house.

Not just any house though, he was a very small portion of a house, a simple particle. The particle did not look normal, however, as he was a piece of wood by all accounts and memories. It's really quite hard for him to explain, but oh yeah, the important part.

SWIM knew, not feared, but KNEW, he was this "house" forever. He was not dead, he was not still alive, he had been removed from the consciousness and the world that he knew and was placed in an area where time not only held no meaning, but simply did not exist. The notion of past and present was not able to be comprehended by him.

The present was infinite, the ramifications of that epiphany still have not set in for SWIM even long periods of time later, and because of this he didn't need to time travel. He was in all times at once, but he is convinced that if he had wanted to, he could have, at least in his mind, but how much more real do you need to get?

Re: Time Travel Experiences

About 10 minutes into the trip SWIM just POPPED back into his living room. It was very weird, he didn't know where he was or really what was going on for about 5-10 minutes after that and he didn't make it back to baseline for about an hour.

The best way SWIM can describe it is a mind-shift, the drug wore off and he came back to reality, but he was still both places for several minutes.

Sounds like an out of body experience. I have heard many reports of that kind of thing (not the turning into a house kinda thing) happening on Salvia. People have told me when they have done it they feel like they are over *here*..but their physical body is over *there*... That the wall seems like the ceiling and the celing seems like the floor.

Swiy could have very well jumped to another plane of consciousness for a few moments, just long enough before swiy's mind realized it wasn't where it normally resides, and jumped back. Very interesting.

Not sure how everyone feels about this but it reminds me of the theory talked about in "what the bleep do we know" how one object is always in two places at once. I think this may be true but your consciousness can (normally) only comprehend being in one place at a time because our human brains are not inept enough to process as much information to see in a broader spectrum.
